Customers are impressed with the My Cloud Mirror's ease of use, ample storage capacity, and relatively easy setup process. Many appreciate its RAID capabilities for data protection and the ability to access files from various devices. However, some users experienced slow backup speeds and found the accompanying software to be less than ideal. Overall, the positive feedback on ease of use and storage outweighs the concerns about software and backup performance.

Easy to setup and get connected to my network. Interface is a little awkward when connected to a desktop or laptop. Once you setup your shared folders you can start uploading your files. One of the biggest complaints is the support of the iOS app does not allow for automatic backing up of data/pictures/videos.

I purchased the My Cloud Mirror so that I could access files from my home computer while traveling. The Cloud Mirror always has the latest data which is backed up every time I make a change to an existing file on my home computer.
The Customer Service help line is excellent. I experienced a couple of problems when setting up the drive and had to call the help line. Both times I was walked through what I needed to do and was successful in resolving issue in both cases.

I use the WD MyCloud Mirror to backup and share files between all of our family's devices. The MyCloud easily communicates with my PC's and iPad, my wife's MacBook Pro and iPhone.
My PC with Windows 7 Pro can perform a Windows Backup to the MyCloud, but my laptop using Windows 7 Home isn't allowed to do a Windows Backup to MyCloud. I can save any file from the laptop to MyCloud, it's just the Windows Backup that isn't allowed. Another reason to stay away from Windows Home versions.

The unit was easy to set up and worked correctly right away. The software that came with the unit was marginal. But finding better software on the internet was easy. One the software upgrade was in place the unit became more automatic and basically invisible to my everyday computing which is just what I wanted.

I read many online reviews on BB and other sites. The plus on the MyCloud Mirror is the ease of set up and the GUI is very simple for people new to the world of NAS. However, the system is extremely slow, took 2 days + to back up about 12GB and that is on a 1GB wired network. The system also would drop off the network; my laptop was not able to find it in Explorer.
For a user that has a few MB to backup, the Cloud Mirror would probably be ok but for anything else look elsewhere at systems like QNAP, Synology, etc.

NAS - Easy Setup

I decided to go with a NAS vs a standard backup drive and I'm glad I did. All my files are now on a central location that I can acess with my desktop, laptop, MacBook Pro, tablets and phones. This worked out well when my desktop crashed...all my file were still accessible from my MacBook. Setup was extremely easy! And the mirror allows for a backup for extra security.

My second one. It was easy to setup and share across all my devices. It doesn't act like a traditional file folder, like a plugged-in hard drive or Dropbox does. Works fine. I have all my photos on it and can easily access from any where using WD My Cloud app.

Our office has been very happy with the affordable storage available on the My Cloud Mirror! It's a stop gap effort until we can get a better network, but you really can't beat the price!

I bought this to replace a "MyBookLiveDuo" from WD. It does create a cloud, but I wanted to have files from office network to work on at home. To get to that stage is very complicated and slow. To WD's credit they spent hours attempting to make it work. Then the next technician spent hours doing the same thing with the MyBookLiveDuo. It still had horrible issues with "save as" and inserting jpgs. We gave up and I am donating the MyBookLiveDuo to a charity and keeping the the MYCloudMirror for our office. For my purposes, both are not adequate, but for those with lesser needs, they should be outstanding. This is hard to rate. If you accept limited usage, then it is fine.

I like this product, and it is very useful in my environment. The software is reasonable, but still not quite intuitive, especially for showing and validating the status of backups.

This drive set up very easily. I have it attached to an ethernet hub off the router and also using it wireless. Have no security issues or connection issues when remote from the home.

I misunderstood the capacity of the MyCloud Mirror product. Wanted to use it like a personal server. Can access it from Windows on the computer it's physically connected to, but can't access it from Windows on my laptop. Have to use the MyCloud software to access files, so I'm unable to "Save" on MyCloud from my local laptop. Don't know proper terminology... However, if I pull up my "this PC" on my computer and alter a document on it (my laptop), I can't "save" to MyCloud. I have to first save it to my computer, then open the MyCloud software, then copy it to the file on MyCloud. Takes more time than I wanted... I'm going to keep MyCloud Mirror for storage, but am going to have to get another product to network my computers so that I can access the files from anywhere in Windows on each of them.

This was very easy to set up on my home network. It was very easy to set up on the laptops and PCs. I was very impressed with the You Tube videos explaining all the features and how to set your My Cloud up the way you wanted it.

It was a bit rough on the setup because their software would not install, but once I set it up through the CLI it has been rock solid.

Easier to setup and more reliable than previous models although included documentation was rather skimpy. Although it says on the box that it is a 4 Terabyte device it will hold 2 Terabytes of data if the default drive mirrored configuration is used (if one of the two drives fails then the other has all of your data on it). But mirrored drives is why I bought it in the first place. NO DATA LOSS !!! It doesn't require you to manually make settings in your router like the old ones did. That was handled automatically. The first time I was away from home I was able to connect to it and access my files. Just read the help files if you get confused or call their support line.

I can honestly say that this is very easy to save files to and access information from. It is so nice to be able to access the information when I am on the road no matter what device I want to use I can get what I need!

I save everything on an external drive, so when I found out that there's one that I can upload to it from anywhere - well sign me up! Reading the box and talking to the store associate made me think that I could set my phone up to automatically upload my photos to this like how it does with google+. Maybe I can't understand the instructions, but manually uploading works just fine.

Just followed the instruction and I was able to connect right away. My only issue was with the initial setup where I needed to add a password, but if you change the initial timeout right away this should be no problem.

My wife always complained that she couldn't access the family photos because I had them stored on my computer. I purchased this and now everyone on the network and my Samsung smart TV's can view them. Using it to store Music and documents now as well.
