It fits the bill perfectly for secure redundant back up. We use it for our pictures. The large hard drive size easily covers our needs, with lots of room to grow. The price was also better than the price found at Western Digital.

I was very happy with how easy this was to setup and that I have the option of using the two drives as one large drive or setting it up in multiple possible RAID configurations. My only disappointment was that I cannot find a setting to encrypt the drive.

you need RAID - Drives fail but RAID makes it harder to lose the data when they do. If it is important BACK IT UP!

This was fairly easy to setup and configure for access from the internet. My main reason for purchase was to replace old computer that we were using for a basic home server.

First of all, please don't buy this NAS drive if you're planning to stream your media off of it. the drive is very loud when it's in use, super super slow and you can't do 2 things at the same time. I did some research before buying this drive so I went ahead and pulled the plug, very upset with its poor performance. I am returning this to the store for sure. Thanks

Although many reviews did not rate this storage unit favourably compared to some other units, for home use I felt that it offered excellent value. It was priced complete with drives for what some other units cost without drives. It was easy to set up, and ever since it has just plain worked away quietly.
