The reason i bought this WD mypassport external hard drive is to use it as a time machine backup for my 128 GB macbook air. Setting up Mypassport external hard drive was a breeze. It was so easy to set up two partitions. One for backups and a second for everyday storage. The hard drive is quiet and super light. It's also much small than I expected. so much easy to carry around. Highly recommend.

This hard drive has only a USB cable. It's small, about the size of a pack of cards, (a little wider). You can connect it to any Windows computer an start using it, (load documents, pictures, music and videos), I use mine for all four. Attach it to any other Windows computer and you can view or play music or videos right from the drive. Also, great price.

I needed to backup all my files off my 6 year old desktop, and port them over to my new laptop. I found this to be an inexpensive and easy way to get the job done. It was reasonably priced, easy to install, easy to backup, and easy to restore my files. It did the job I needed it to do. Now I'll use it to backup my laptop, when needed. Lots of room to do this.

Purchased for my son's PS4 which was out of space. Plug it in, easy to configure, now he has triple the space. Great way to extend the life of his PS4

I had no method to backup my hard drive on the new HP Envy 360 I bought in Aug. After a return to the store for a lock-up on my laptop the Geek squad suggested I speak to the sales staff about the options available and this device had a 1 Gig storage capacity which is more than I would ever use. It is set for automatic backup now and I can start the backup at any time if I choose to. So far I have had no need to retrieve the content but I did review the files and they are being updated so I have a better feeling about not losing the data I have on my laptop.

I wanted to expand my Xbox one storage. It was very simple and easy to use. I just plugged it and the Xbox did the rest. Easy way to get an extra TB.

works well with our computer filled with 10K photos and all kinds of documents. our computer crashed last week (blue screen) could not be brought back. Since backups are done on a schedule we had no issues retrieving evdery thing foire the new computer.

This was a great way to transfer stuff from my old computer to my new one. Especially since my new one didn't have as much storage capacity like the last one. Very easy and fast. Small too. Can take with me to school and not be too burdensome.

I purchased this drive to back up photos and not been let down. I love the size and will purchase another one when I need additional space.

I use it as a jump drive to store music and photos. This one replaced an older portable hard drive that was acting funny. Does a good job.

Originally, this was going to be my travel drive due to its cool color and modern look. However, I found that the rounded corners of the WD Elements drive (which I bought the same day) make that the more portable option. So, this drive stays home, very capably replacing an old WD My Book I used as a backup drive. It was so easy to connect, and I started transferring my files in minutes (I did not use the included software). I'm happy with the drive overall, and will buy more if WD makes them with rounded corners!

I bought this for my daughter so she can have more storage for her to download her PS4 games and it just works awesome.

I have several of these and really like them. Plenty of room for files, easy plug and play arrangement. No issues here.

Needed mass storage for downloading files from an old computer for access at a later date - passport worked seamlessly

The Passport 1 Terabyte portable external USB drive is exactly what I was looking to use to backup all my photos and videos from my MacBook Pro laptop. It's easier to access the photos to take on the road when visiting friends and relatives. I can backup all my my data from my laptop. It's was a great purchase for the price.

I got this to simple back up my music collection. Stores my music, easy to move files to it. Light weight and compact.
