I learned about the passport from my sister and decided to give it a try to store photos. My laptop was slowing down so she recommended this particular storage drive. I instantly loved how easy it was to simply plug in and create a username / password. I never thought I would use it as much as I do now. My photos and important documents are now safely put and easy for me to access. And my laptop is now functioning smoother.

I had to purchase this item after our computer was infected with a virus. After all was said and done, we managed to download all music, pictures, and videos from two phones and a computer and still have not used even 1/6th of the space within this hard drive. Its an amazing product for the price, (about $65) and very easy to use. Its sturdy and heavy, not cheaply made from the look and feel of it. Its compact enough that it fits into a small corner of an office drawer. The customer service at best buy was also excellent with helping me to make a decision, and overall I'm 100% satisfied with my whole experience!! Will definately reccomend to friends and family!!

This unit is small in size but has a lot of memory. It is very good for laptops or for your computer that has a tight space. It's easy to use and does the job of backup storage. Also, Great Price!!!

We purchased this external hard drive for my mom. She has an issue with taking 10's of 1000's of photo's and then uploading them to her lab top. After time, the lap top started run slower and slower and was way less efficient then what it should be. We had talked to her about purchasing a hard drive to help allow her computer to run at a better speed, but fear of the unknown made her decline every time. Recently, while trying to work on her computer, she was having such a difficult time, she decided to give up and go out computer shopping. After much convincing, she finally allowed us to purchase one as a gift. For the price, we couldn't ask for more, She was scared of losing what she already had, or being so computer illiterate that it would be more of a hassle then help. She was able to easily plug the hard drive in and navigate rather quickly. The size works extremely well for her. Having the 1TB for a million pictures is highly recommended! The size of the device it's self is palm size, and does not require much space. The item was fairly simple, light weight and over all works for the purpose she needed. I highly recommended this device for anyone that loves pictures, never erases them and can't figure out why the speed and quality of their computer is junk, Defiantly a 5 star item for the fact that it not only functions well, if not better then expected.

Like everyone else, I use my phone for almost all of my picture taking. Eventually you amass a lot of pictures. I'm always worried something will happen to my phone, so I decided to get this external hard drive. I download my pics to my PC and then on to the drive. Easy breezy. Now I don't have to worry. It's also nice to have them portable, so you can plug it in to a photo kiosk to get prints or plug it in to a friend's tablet or PC to share pictures. Western Digital is a reputable company and their products have always worked great for me.

Great compact size, great capacity for the buck, and great performance

I bought this to free up storage on our laptops. We put tons of photos and videos on this and it barely made a dent in it. I’m not the best with technology but it was very user friendly. It doesn’t come with a manual or instructions but when you plug it in it guides you on what to do.

My old, big and clunky portable hard drive was starting to sputter, so I bought this little thing, and it was great out of the box. Plug n play, and I easily transferred everything off my old drive to this one, and there hasn't been a problem. It's small and inconspicuous, which I like. My computer guy at work suggested this, and I'm very pleased with it.

Love the My Passport,it is easy to use, and you can save your computer information, programs etc. Quick and easy, not to mention the price is reasonable. In the event that you lose some of your computer info, you have it readily available to copy. Well worth the the money to save/protect your information. Lainiep12 10/21/17

I've used WD drives forever, they always provide a reliable storage device and this hard drive is no exception. I needed something for a work computer that allowed me to store copies of critical files other than on the PC's drive, and not in the Cloud. This was the perfect choice! And at 1Tb I can backup a lot of stuff.

A new laptop is in my future, and it seems that using CDs for file storage is so 2010. I needed to find an effective way to transfer my photo files and other important stuff and my tech nephew suggested looking into this particular external drive. I read several reviews and after figuring out how it works, it has been quite easy to use. When this laptop dies, I'll have all my stuff and be able to access it easily on whatever new setup I purchase.
