This has been a great drive, I really wanted the external SD reader so that I could dump my pictures to the drive. It is also very convenient to use the wireless connectivity to communicate to the drive, whether it is to watch a movie from it or to transfer data.

WD Wireless has a built-in SD card slot and supports faster Wi-Fi which I love it but only bad is battery life which comparatively short. But overall its good one to use.

First off, let me say the product has promise but does not live up to what is promised other than in a minimum way. It requires use of its poorly designed and very limited mobile app. This is a big oversight by the designers. Product should be high level in both hardware and software. Bought this to provide additional storage in the field for iPhone and iPad when doing AV work. It works but the apps you have to use are poorly designed and confusing. It is difficult to navigate and frustrating that file organization system is limited. The transmission rates with point to point wifi from iPhone 6 and iPad Air 2 to the hard rice is extremely slow... Requiring more battery usage from both mobile devices and the hard drive itself. Maybe a Next Generation Bluetooth device link might be faster and more efficient. Should be more like the personal cloud of western digital's other storage options. WD send your app dev team to look at how google drive or Dropbox works for logical and simple file organization functionality when integrating in the future. I would wait until WD gets the product more defined.

This worked exactly as expected. I am able to upload and watch all of my movies on my tablet. They are streamed wirelessly from this HDD. My only complaint is that I tried the Seagate hard drive first and was so disappointed that I didn't even want to give this one a chance. I am glad that I gave Western Digital a chance. I'll never go back.

I travel a lot and like to have access to my photos and other data. While "the cloud" is nice I don't always have Internet access. This is a great drive for my purposes. I can get to it from my phones , tablet and pc. It is a bit slow transferring at times but still like it.

It was good to go as soon as I took it out of the box and it worked flawlessly with my Dell laptop. I was always bothered by having my laptop tied down by an External HD because of the wire but now this is no longer a problem! Plenty of room for all my music and movies!

Must Have for Traveler Photographer or Not !! I bought this after read all the reviews and watch endless Youtube video on it. It was the best purchase over Samsung Portable HDD. It has the most storage space and you can have more than 2 wireless connection points at the same time. This is the best way to keep the kids and passengers in the car calm. Plus - You can backup all your photos from any DSLR with SD Card into this HDD WITHOUT any computer. Insert and Auto-back up all your photos. The portable battery last roughly 10 hours when operating it at slow speed (not booster) this was use on a trip to Myrtle Beach, SC from Philadelphia, PA. Get it while they are in STOCK !!

This drive works great and I love that it also works with my tablet and phone. I wish the battery life was longer than 5-6 hours, but it's still plenty of time to get some photo editing done.

Love this little thing. Easy backups. Linked it up to home wifi and I can get internet through it as well. Only bummer is that it's 802.11n, not 802.11ac. Not a killer though.
