I've owned many hard drives over the years. Some failed some lasted. WD was always the most reliable. I purchased this hard drive based on time tested reliability. My videos, pictures and documents are extremely important to me and this is the only brand external hard drive I trust to save all those important files.

Very small and portable, with USB 3.0 connectivity

I needed a small portable drive and this fit the bill. With data forever being increased I needed the space. 4TB is good enough until I need 8TB.

Very portable, great for travelers that need to take work with them. Works well for photography back up drive.

I wanted the biggest hard drive available with no power adapter required for my PS4. Found this one on special and it works great. I am able to transfer my ps4 games safely and at super fast speeds to my new hard drive. Highly recommended for PS4 users who want more space. Just plug in and start using right away.

Needed to backup two desktop computers and their associated cloud stored files. This external drive has enough capacity, and is USB 3.0 fast, to hold both computers 1 TB drives, plus has enough capacity left over to store incremental backups for at least two years. Just right for my needs.

I have bought several of these over the past year. This one I purchased for a friend. It is slower to load than a comparable Seagate and I am impatient, but it I think it is a little more reliable. I have had a dozen Western Digital hard drives over the years. I cannot recall any failures.

I purchased this drive to backup my computer. I looked around at a lot of other products and found the reviews for this one to be the best. I have several other WD Passport drives and they all work great and last long. I recommend this product if you need some external storage space.

A 4TB external hard drive gives on a lot of real-estate to perform a lot of tasks. When I get the time to deal with the hard drive, it will house a version of Linux, and will be used full time 24/7. This is my preference for using these external hard drives, since I'm not crazy of having to deal with Windows. I've installed a free version on a USB connected hard drive for years, and since the external hard drives are not turned on and off very often they seem to last much longer just running constantly.

This is a great hard drive!!!! There are different capacities to choose from. Buy the biggest capacity you can as you can never have too much free space especially if shooting video. I also recommend getting the WD - Carrying Case for Select Passport Portable Hard Drives to protect your drive.

As its cousins, it has a small form factor, quiet and big storage space. I use it to back up Mac and Windows files interchangeably. For using it on MAC, you need to format it for mac. If you want to use it on both machines, then format using NTFS and install fusion on Mac so that it can mount this drive on Mac.

I have two 1TB passports and both work like a dream. Needed more storage and now I keep having problems with my 3.0 TB passport.????

I bought this External to replace the 4 other external hard drives I had. I had 1x2 GB and 3x1GB hard drives. Now all of my information is on one device. Makes things so much easier when trying to figure out where I have information stored. Super fast and connect to my devices without any issues.

I bought this for my neices and nephew because they were always deleting and adding games on the ps4 causing turmoil between them This allows them to travel with all their games more easily and it is easy for them to use. Set up was a breeze and it's constructed pretty well.

wanted a drive to backup all my pics and videos, this drive fit the bill,large storage capacity at a reasonable price whats not to like

I've had this drive for a month or so now. I purchased it to expand the storage on my Xbox One. I am now able to fit every game I want. Games seem to play flawlessly, or at least as well as they played from the internal hard drive. If you are using this to expand Xbox One storage, you will be satisfied.

This has replaced a corrupted hard drive I used for additional PS4 storage. There weren't any 6TB options in-store so we went with this 4TB. It's worked really well so far. It stays plugged in and we shut the system down properly to make sure it's safe but it's worked really well.

This is my second Passport purchase because we needed a separate drive for a client project. Very durable and reliable. Only drawback is that it may take a while to format for Mac. Other than that a great buy for the price.
