this external drive was just what I needed for my photo 5 class. I was able to store all of my pictures and written assignments associated with them. it is easy to keep up with. it fits perfectly in my camera bag.

I wanted something bigger than the G-Drive Mini I was currently using. After reading product reviews, I picked this one up. It works. But I have had to go into the system and re-start it several times. For some reason, Time Machine is not liking it. It works when I re-start it, but I shouldn't have to do that. My G-Drive Mini is a "turn it on and it works" kind of product, which is what I was expecting from this. I'm going to play with it some more and see if I can get it working like it should, but right now, it's just "average" due to the manual manipulation I'm having to do periodically.

This is my second WD-My Passport portable hard drive. It is so compact and light weight. Never had any issues.

This is a smaller compact system and easy to use. The initial back up time was fairly significant but was not unusual given the significant number of photos that I have on my Mac. Would recommend.

We have several of these drives we use on our Macs for Time Machines. They are preformatted and easy to use, just plug into the Mac and ok the device being used as a time machine and you are good to go. Best Buy always has good pricing on them.

I use this hard drive to back up my macbook pro. It works great with time machine and is compact.

I purchased this drive specifically to use with Time Machine to backup my MacBook Air. I have an Apple AirPort Extreme wifi router and simply plugged the drive into the USB port on the router. I am now able to wirelessly backup my MacBook Air without ever having to plug the drive directly into the laptop. Works great! Of course the added bonus is that I can also use it as a network drive for storing other files as well.

I wanted a second external hard drive to back up wedding pictures that I took earlier that day. (I read online the day before a horror story of wedding photos being lost) so this prompted me to have a second backup. I got this at a great price. My other hard drive (1/2 TB) is a WD and I have been happy with its performance the last 3 years. It backed up my Time Machine right away on my Mac. Overall happy with it!
