use google to figure out how to format it for mac. The prices on these drives comes down every week. I learned the hard way that you always keep your data in 2 places. Buy 2 of these and keep one in a drawer and back up the other one once a month. For 200 bucks you can have 2x 2tb drives. Should take care of space and backups for most consumers.

This 2T storage device was recommended by a friend. It has been very reliable and very easy to use.

Have had the Western Digital My Passport Ultra 2TB External USB 3.0/2.0 Portable Hard Drive for a couple of months now and have experienced no issues with it thus far. Easy to set up and use, acceptably fast transfer speeds and has been reliable during the admittedly short time I've used it. Personally, I would have been willing to pay more for a comparable device made in the USA but Western Digital, like most companies, outsources work to Asia where labor comes cheap - at the expense of American jobs. As such, advise to buy only if the price is right.

I purchased this item to use it for backups of my customer's data before having to reformat their hard drives. This HD does it as good as I can expect. Fast and speedy.

I bought this to expand the storage on my Xbox One and so far everything is working great. I moved my games to it and still have a ton of space left for more games and apps.

I travel weekly for work, and do a lot of work with VMs while on the go. This drive provides lots of storage and USB 3 speed, without the hassle of an additional external power supply. The built in encryption and security is an extra bonus for sensitive files. I find the supplied software pretty intuitive, although I do not use it that often.

This is an awesome hard drive. Cooler than the others I've tried and fast. I use this for my iMac and it's really great! I use it for my VMs that I run on VMware Fusion.

I have always purchased WD external drives. I needed another one and found out about the Ultra. The purchase choose was a no brainer. Especially since it was on sale.

Plug and play, easy to use. Tons of storage, backed up 3 computers at home. Not lightning fast took about 20 min to back up each computer but nice peace of mind.

I just use mine to back up my computer and all my photos in particular. It's a lot smaller than I expected, provides plenty of space and has been great so far!

This is a really nice portable self (bus) powered hard drive. Great for backing up data or moving a large amount of data. I've recommended it to many people.
