I use this 2TB drive as back up storage for the many video performances I record. Both camcorders have a 250GB hard drive, and they are backed up to this 2TB drive. When I return to my studio, I simply plug in the 2TB drive and everything is right there for production editing. I'll be buying another passport drive for my next video shoot.

I am very pleased with the quality of this hard drive and at the price I paid. It is working excellent for me and my needs.

I bought this for my XB1 which works great. Just a warning the LED in the back of the HDD will blink while it's idle so you may want to put a small amount of electric tape on the back to cover it since it will distract you in a dark room.

I was looking for something to put all my photos and files on without worrying about storage. I never have had any thing bigger than 500gb and this has exceeded all expectations so far. The only con that I can give it is that it has a slow transfer rate. I think this might be because of my computer. Other than it is a great product.

I would definitely recommend this product. It has proved to be easy to use, has enough room to back up my computer holding all my data and photos.

I've been using WD portable hard drives for many years, and have had no problem. This is just another one added to my stack. Being Mac based, I do reformat them rather than buying a more expensive Mac formatted drive.

Good capacity after drive software and formatting, over 1.8 TB. Software install was simple, but not automatic. I also found it less than intuitive. Twice I thought I had it, the third time I used Windows (7) to initiate the back-up.

I've had this for at least a few months and no problems so far. I mainly use it for storing Music, Home Movies, Pictures, and data files (Word, PDF) - basically, my overall backup for my life. I have NOT used the software that came with it, so although I gave this thing an "Excellent" review on Software Installation, I did so to rate the whole product well. May also be compatible with MAC? I can't remember, sorry! The External drive works without a hitch - transferring data with good speed and never an issue. There's a slight "click" noise when any data is accessed on the drive, but it's nothing to worry about. I am as gentle as I can be with my technology, so I don't know how well it fares under any stress, but I got the Titanium one because (as I am) I tend to destroy most anything I touch (I broke the ONE weak link in my titanium watch 2 months ago, lol). Highly recommended; check it out.

Hard drive is easy to use and a good price for the size

This external hard drive was exactly what I needed to back up my computer. The usb 3.0 makes data transfer much faster

I have several of these and use them for back ups of important items. I would tell anyone to have more than one. Yes they are durable but things happen so always have important things on several hard drives. I trust my important things with me I can hold... remember this... important things should be backed up several devices.

After losing photos and records when computers crashed, I learned to keep my files on a hard drive the hard way. Data can sometimes be recovered but it is costly and only a portion gets recovered. My WD passports keep my files safe from computer to computer

Extended game play with the accessories. Recommend for the serious gamer who has to have all the bells and whistles.

This spacious drive coupled with the WD Smartware software has proven to be a great backup tool for me. I've been able to save images of all systems in our home along with everything else digital that we value. I've had the unfortunate occasion to use it to recover after a HDD failure which, in my mind, has allowed it to pay for itself. The USB 3.0 speeds are nice - not blazing, but certainly better than creeping along at 2.0. In my opinion it's an essential piece of hardware in today's tech world...

I upgraded from a USB 3.0 128GB thumb drive to this model for my home "server" hard drive. This seems to transfer data about 10 to 15% faster but takes longer for that initial boot time. All in all a great little drive for the $$$

Warms up a bit with use as might be expected, but very reasonable and has never made me think it would be a reliability problem due to heat. Great that it doesn't require a wall wart, just runs from USB power without sacrificing much in the way of write speed. Have not read the other reviews, so not sure if there is any negatives that I should look out for. Overall, quite a nice drive so far (I have only had it for about three weeks).
