    I bought this to backup up my PC and share music with my kids. I love that you can pick and choose what, how and when to backup. I also like that it can be used as a spare drive so the kids can snag music off of it instead of sharing my PC with them. I'd recommend it to anyone.

    I purchased this item on the recommendation of a Best buy associate. I needed to replace my old external hard drive because I ran out of space. Initial set up was not simple and a big confusing but eventually I was able to back up current PC and schedule backups. I have not checked status of those backups recently but space is no longer an issue. If you are more adept at computers you may not have the setup issue I had. Overall it is doing what I require.

    I use these Passport drives as two fold... first as a backup of my own personal digital TV collection, and secondly for a portable and extremely easy to carry solution of my complete digital TV collection. Always trust WD for hard drives and have had very few problems.
