I purchased this portable hard drive as a backup for my pictures and my important files. Plug and play and easy setup to automatically back up files or folders I wish to keep. I like being able to take it back and forth with me to my summer residence also.

I am a graphic design student so I'm always in need for large amounts of fast reliable storage that I can take with me on the go. Although it is not compatable for a Mac computer right out of the box all you need to do is reformat it into FAT32 and bingo just a quick fix! You are all set and don't need worry about it working or not. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who is in or going into animation or graphic design.

Really a great hard disk, fast with the usb 3.0 connection, and secure with the hardware encription. BTW now there is a new model with even better encription, I would buy the new model in case I will need more space.

I needed a good reliable 3.0 external drive for my xbox one. This worked perfectly!! I installed it and in minutes I was able to transfer all my games to the external drive. Now I have so much more room!

This is an excellent external drive. I travel a lot and take it everywhere with me. It even brings it's own backup software making it quite easy to use.

I bought this to back up our server at work and I have to say it works like a champ. Could not ask for more. The 3.0 usb helps out with speed

I don't know much about external hard drives, but this one is effective and very portable. It's about the size of a deck of cards, but can hold up to 2TB. Nice!

I bought this hard drive for my sister and she liked it so much. It has a perfect size so that she can easily bring it out. The quality is very good at all.

You have format for using on Mac. It has good performance.

It's small form factor is what swayed me to go with this product. I like that it has such a large storage capacity, and it is easily formatted to HFS-J for a Mac OS, or NTFS for Windows, or as long as it isn't for time machine, or a dual boot OS installation you can even use ex-Fat to use between a Mac and a Windows Machine. Fits well on the lid of my laptop.

I trust WD when it comes to portable hard drive. Thus when this unit was on sale, I bought 2 of them right away to store photos and work. Its great capacity allows 2 years of photos to transfer from SD and micro-SD cards to a more spacious zone, with the possibility of adding a whole lot more, at rapid speed.

I purchased this device not only for the capacity, but also the safety features regarding encryption of the data. If you commute with important work or financial documents, encryption is a must!

I purchased mine on sale, should have grabbed two. I needed a dedicated HD to back-up my laptop and I wanted it to be portable. My laptop has a 750GB HD, most portables where only 500GB and I already had a WD My Cloud but internet access in the country is by satellite, enough said. I came across the WD Passport Ultra 2TB and really glad I did, small, fast and capacity where what I needed. WD brand is solid!

After finally figuring out how to install and operate....it backed up my computer before the computer crashed, thank goodness! Then I upgraded to a MacPro, which is a learning experience. But then this product wasn't for Mac. Tech person with WD was foreign, belittling and not kind at all. I'm pretty tech savvy but she was down right rude. The "support" people need to realize, if we didn't call them, they wouldn't have a job! Told me I needed to find a Windows machine....well, since it crashed, I don't have one. Will call the Geek Squad and see if they are more helpful.
