Can't go wrong with WD drive with security solution which the essentials drives do not have.

So far so good. I have not had any problems with this drive as far as backing up and saving my stuff to this drive. I have used WD for a while and haven't had a problem with them.

I have the seagate drive & needed a new one for to separate work backups and all they had was the WD. I was reluctant but gave it a try & I'm glad I did. I ended up liking this one better than the seagate I have. Definitely worth the money.

At this price and value you cannot go wrong. Same thickness as my slim laptop, weighs only 8 ounces.

I bought this to use as an external storage for my Xbox one and it works great. It is actually faster than the internal storage for the Xbox.

These drives are definitely getting thinner and thinner. Good product for its price range.

I have had many Western Digital devices. This is the first external hard disk device I have purchased. This device comes in multiple colors although Best only carries the black or gray in the store. The other colors must be purchased online. Colors besides black and gray may have a slightly higher price tag. Best Buy matched the price with another retailer with ease. There is one drawback to this device. When sitting idle or in the middle of a file copy the device has just dropped from being recognized by the Windows OS. It quickly returns. If you're copying then you have to copy that file over again. I haven't lost any data as a result but it is annoying. I haven't researched if this is a known issue or a fix is available. It doesn't do it frequently but it does happen. Overall I'm happy with the small physical size of the device for easy carrying or storing. I would recommend this device to others.

I use this drive to store all my electronic media. Never had a problem with it. Am very happy with my purchase.

This works very well, and transfers data fast. A Great, inexpensive, storage disk.

Fast transfers and large volume of memory. Case seems very sturdy and easy transition from pc to mac.

I am using this HD for my Xbox One. It works well and allows me to store my games on it.

This device comes with lots of software that after you install, it tries to get you to upgrade to their systems. In addition, my DVD player stopped functioning and it happened two seconds after installing software. It still doesn't work. Drives like this should just be a storage medium that you control through Windows or whatever your system might be.

Bought this due to all of the positive reviews.. However, once I plugged it into my Macbook it took a while to open up. Once it finally appeared, I reformatted it and transferred most of my files, but then the folder would disappear from my desktop as if I ejected it. Replugged it, would appear then disappear again. Also, wouldn't allow me to open up my Word document files while plugged in.

Love WD products because they work great and have a great lifetime of use!

This drive is nice until the power goes out or the cable gets disconnected. Afterwards it will have bad sectors and not be recoverable. ChkDsk will not work and it will make that clicking noise and lock the computer. It you have proprietary information on it you can't send it back because you can't delete it.
