Compared with the Roku 3, this Media Player handles media streaming from the cloud and your DLNA/home network the best, as well as easy organization and playback of media from your high capacity hard drives. It is priced very competitively and also has many of the must-have media streaming apps. It, unfortunately, lacks the Amazon Instant apps and many of the live sports apps, though. But, if you are a media hoarder, I think this is the media player for you!

I'm using the WD TV Live Media Player for watching Netflix and hearing music (Pandora). It is really easy to use, high definition and no problems with connectivity or slow response at all.

Great streamer. Sometimes faulty playback. All Video types work except Blu Ray ISO and M2TS playback. SPDIF nice for those like me who have HD monitor with no HDMI receiver. Finally all my hard drives full of videos can be played without the need of a PC! Converting all Blu Rays to MKV for optimal lossless playback of DTS HD MA and Dolby True HD audio tracks.

Purchased for myself, wife, and grandkids to access Slingbox from 2nd home. All of us gave up on Logitech Review which seemed to freeze up every 5 minutes. WD live Media Player MUCH more stable. Even wife and grandkids can easily work the WD live Media Player's built in "slingbox app".

It's a very good product inside a network or for home streaming

I use this device for storage of my media files. The device automatically makes these files compatible to be seen or played on my tv.

Perhaps one of the best streaming devices on the market. Easy setup and connecting to WiFi. Small and portable nicely designed.

Had some issues getting it to work correctly on my network. Had to check the domain name on my network, and then change it in the Network settings on the western digital set up area. Lots of features once up and running so compared to what's out there for streaming files off your computer, its not bad. Overall worth the purchase.

Set up took just a few minutes. The mandatory firmware update took a little longer, but was nearly automatic. If you are looking to view your movies off a USB drive or a Network Attached Storage drive via Wi-Fi, regardless of format, then this is the device for you. My only regret is that it doesn't have a web browser or an ESPN 3 app.

This unit is easy to setup and functions just as advertised. A perfect companion for my WD Live network drive. Makes a home entertainment network easy to manage and use.

I absolutely love this product. I watch Netflix and YouTube a lot. I also take it with me when I travel. Set up is as easy as plug set up Internet connection and have fun!

I bougth to replace my apple tv but the structure of commands are more complicated.

If you have any pics or movies you want to watch off of your external hard drive then I recommend this product. So easy to use and I love the set up of everything.

I bought this to convert movies from the computer to the TV. It was easy to set up and use. It is nice to see the movies on the big screen instead of the computer.

So I bought this because I used one in Afghanistan. It worked great there so I thought it would work great at home. In the end it did but not right away. I hooked it up and after a bit of messing around I finally figured out which video output it was using. I could not find any way to select one or the other without seeing the on screen video page. After I was able to see the device I then hooked up my 1TB external hard drive and.......nothing. So I left everything plugged in for a few hours. The device finally saw my hard drive and then I could access my movies, music, etc. Over all it works great.

Bought to stream home HD movies to non-WiFi TV. It does that very well. So far it has played every file type I have. We record the group skiing and want to want watch it when we get off the lake. After transferring the camcorder's *.mts files, it will play each file in the folder without any other effort. I love that.
