So I just went b550 with a ryzen 7 5800x. And I was looking for a gen 4 nvme for my main drive. Stubbled upon this drive. Although I was looking into getting the sn850. But this offered battlefield which I was planning to get so all worked out well. Works like a charm.

So far so good. Bought this for my PS5 Disc edition and it's working great. I matched it with the Sabrent M.2 NVMe PS5 heatsink and everything is working flawlessly. I'll update if something happenes while in use

If you happen to need to upgrade your solid state drive and you like 2042 Battlefield Game, this is a good choice. The game is about 30 dollars cheaper than buying it separately. The hard disk is used normally after installation. The redemption code of the game is valid, but you must pay attention to typographical errors. The correct website is wdblack.com/redeem-BF. The redemption code should also pay attention to the use of capital letters, and pay attention to distinguish between letters and numbers. I misunderstood the letter I as the number 1 in the first exchange. I think some people say that the game redemption is invalid, and they may have made this mistake.

This NVME drive + game code is a really good deal, especially when it was on sale. Game code comes in box, is redeemable on wdblack.com/redeembf and then they email the game code to redeem in Origin (not Steam if that matters). Used this to clone my OS from a 500 GB SATA SSD with Macricum Reflect, love not having SATA drives. NVMEs stay out of the way and hidden by the GPU usually anyways.

I am quite pleased with this NVMe SSD. Installation is easy as pie for the experienced. However, one important thing to note is that there are no .m2 screws or any instructions on physical and OS initialization/formatting, which I found odd. So, I suggest ensuring that the motherboard has it already in place in the slot or have them included in the motherboard's box. This also includes laptops. In case you are not experienced, a simple YT tutorial is all you need. It’s also worth mentioning that there is no heat sink included.
Once properly installed, I was very satisfied with the speeds. I downloaded, transferred, and installed several games, and the process was fast and seamless. Loading was about 1.5 times faster than my older NVMe, and don’t get me started if you are using a mechanical hard drive. The average write/read MB/s speeds were 3574.32/2501.86 (see pic). Also, although there is no heatsink, temperatures remained surprisingly low at 33c average (see pic).
As a secondary drive for gaming, I would highly recommend it -certainly on a fresh build. Although I am a bit disappointed for not having a screw kit, heat sink, or proper instructions, the WD SN750 provides decent performance at a good value. The icing on the cake is the included BF2042 redemption code.
TIP:
I initially installed it as a third SSD, and when tested it, I immediately became alarmed when I saw W/R speeds below 1600 MB/s, then quickly realized that I had to mess around with the slot position, BIOS, and OS settings, so research how to maximize this drive’s performance on your MB brand before installing.

The bundled Battlefield download is what drew me to the SN750 SE NVMe as it’s a great deal with both a 1TB and game included. My current NVMe is only 500gb and is full with just 3 other games installed. My search for 1TB landed me with the SN750 with Battlefield bundle.
Pros:
• Lightening fast. Even compared to SATA SSD
• Comes with highly anticipated game
Cons:
• Gets very warm. Maybe spring for the heatsink model if you have a desktop
• Tech support/Cloning software is rubbish
My quest for a larger drive was a rocky one. Turns out that my motherboard only has 1 NVMe slot so therefore I will need to clone. And before I can clone, I will need to purchase an external NVMe to USB enclosure so I can clone. (see pic). Western Digital has a free cloning software for their hard drives and that can be found on their website. This information is not within the box nor any manual was included so beware if you’re not computer savvy. Turns out that the Acronis cloning software scans your computer to see if you have any Western Digital products before activating. This is where I ran into snags as the cloning software couldn’t detect ANY western digital products. Turns out that the NVMe enclosure hides the identity of the NVMe. I tried to remedy the situation by swapping the NVMe from my original to the enclosure and the SN750 to the motherboard. Then I had to boot from USB and still no luck with Acronis identifying the products for me to use the cloning software.
After hours with their tech support, I decided to take matters into my own hands and downloaded a 3rd party cloning software. The 3rd party software worked great but there are certain settings on what to do with partition sizes. This is very evident when going from a 500gb to a 1TB. You will have a huge unallocated partition if you’re not careful. Windows disk management only lets you extend to adjacent partitions and that wasn’t going to work out for me since I have 3 other windows backup partitions right after the OS partition. You will hit this snag if you don’t adjust partition allocations before hitting the clone button. Long story short, very painful as Acronis would have done this for me.
In summary, the actual NVMe SN750 is blazing fast. My operating system boots within a few seconds of hitting the power button. I’m going to take a star off for the lack of manuals and their rubbish customer service. You won’t have any of these issues if you’re starting off from a fresh build with zero cloning required. But beware if you do need to clone.

Much Faster than my WD BLUE!

This is probably my 10th WD hard drive. From the old HDD in my old desktop to this beast in my gaming rig. Even use an external 1TB drive for my ps4 pro. I trust this brand way more than others!
This WD m.2 nvme is a beast. Games load super fast compared to my WD blue drive. It’s more than double the speed and with games like warzone that helps in my opinion. Photo and music(yes I still use mp3s) file transfers are super fast as well. You do get the full rated speed majority of the time. No issues there. For the price it’s well worth it. Plus you get The battlefield branding which looks cool. Even if no one cares. I care lol. And you also get the full game download code in the box for PC. I played the demo and I can’t wait. Tired of warzone to be completely honest. So for the speeds, the reliability of WD and the battlefield game code. You can’t beat this. This is a gen 4 drive so it helps to have a gen 4 slot on your mother board. You can also use this as a secondary drive in your PS5 as well. But this models rated speed won’t meet ps5 titles spec. But you can store plenty of ps4 games on there if you so chose. I think when I get one I will add this there. Maybe.
I recommend sticking to a 1TB WD black drive if you are looking to upgrade your PC. I have 3 1TB drives in mine. That’s plenty. I have a lot of games. I’m Happy with this drive. You can’t go wrong really. Great middle grown. Highly recommended for sure!
The complaint I have is that…….. Western Digital didn’t include the stand off and the nvme Screw that is needed. So unfortunately I had to order a specific screw kit for asus motherboards from Amazon. But it was only about 6$ so not worth making a fuss. But if you are reading this, buy the screw kit before. You will need it. Unless you are replacing your original nvme drive.
Good luck!

Fast, Work in PS5, Free PC Game

TLDR:
(that’s Too Long, Didn’t Read)
This fast M.2 SSD is designed for gaming PCs but I installed it in my Playstation 5. It worked flawlessly and doubled my console’s storage.
Pros:
* Fast.
* Great warranty.
* Works perfectly in a Playstation 5, too.
* Includes a redemption code for the full PC-version of Battlefield 2042.
Cons:
* Doesn’t come with a heat sink.
Summary:
This fast SSD is designed for and claims compatibility with gaming PCs and laptops. I’m sure it works great in them, too, but I have a Playstation 5 as my main gaming rig. With the recent software update, the PS5 can now accept self-installed internal storage upgrades. Sony recommends that any SSD have a suitable heat sink installed, so I bought one and mounted this SSD in it.
It was easy to open up the PS5 and slide in the SSD. The PS5 immediately recognized the new SSD, formatted it and made it ready for use. WD also sells faster SSDs specifically for use with the PS5 but this one worked great, too. I moved a 32GB game file from internal console storage to the new SSD. That transfer took about 15 seconds and the game played from the SSD just as well as it did from console storage. Perhaps there are games that might perform better from faster SSDs, but so far I haven’t noticed any speed difference.
I won’t comment on the bundled Battlefield game as you’re either into that or not. There is a redemption code in the box for the full game that you can download. The game, of course, is the PC version and not the PS5 version, just so you know.
In short, this is a fast SSD that I’m sure works great in a gaming laptop or PC, but it also works amazing in a Playstation 5!

Got the WD_BLACK SN750 SE 1TB to upgrade my Asus Inpiron 13 from the original 256GB HD. Installation was easy. I moved the original drive to the 2nd slot and had the SN750 as the primary drive so make sure you have your recovery drive or disk handy. After installation, speeds seem faster, noticed OS and apps loaded faster but everything is dependent on your bus speeds. WD says read speeds around 3,600mb but through bendmark, I only got a little over 3,100mbs, I'm guessing it's my laptop but found the write speeds to match what WD says.
Overall happy with the WD_BLACK SN750 SE 1TB. Way more space and faster read speeds. Would recommend.

Excellent entry-level PCI-E Gen4 nVME Drive

The biggest problem with SSDs these days is the cost. Most of them cater to those with deep pockets that want the utmost in performance without consideration for someone that just needs a boost in his current configuration without breaking the bank.
Enter the WD_Black SN750 SE. The original iteration of this drive was a PCI-E Gen3 drive and Western Digital has cranked it up a notch to make it Gen4 without sacrificing performance or drive life. This is an excellent entry in the PCI-E Gen4 arena for those looking for improvements without selling a kidney. It's built with 3D TLC nand so you arent dealing with the performance loss that QLC would give you, and it's powered by a Phison controller for DRAM-less SSDs.
In real world scenarios, honestly this drive is fast, really fast. Sure you can talk about the top end drives being faster in benchmarks, but when it comes to loading a game or using it in other situations, the difference between those and this one will really be negligible. In my testing it was able to read at more than 3.2GBps and write at 2.93GBps. When compared to anything else at the price point for gen4, you'd be sacrificing a significant amount of storage or performance (in the case of QLC NAND) that you really dont have to with this one.
Add on the fact that this comes with BF2042 and it's really just a value entry-level nVME SSD that just cant be beat. In loading up BF2042 it was blazing fast, loading screens flew by and I would find myself waiting on the server and for others to load the game while I'm ready to go.
All in all, this is an excellent entry-level Gen4 nVME drive and I whole-heartedly recommend it to anyone in the market for a drive that just doesn't want to break the bank.

Excellent drive for your storage needs

The SN750 SE is a great NVME drive that is plenty fast for your OS and games. Even though it’s a PCIe Gen 4 drive, the read and write speeds fall below the recommended requirement of 5,500MB read speed for the PS5. I’m not saying you can’t use it on a PS5 but use it at your own discretion.
For my usage as additional storage to my gaming laptop, I was getting read speeds of 3444 and write speeds around 2825. Those speeds are plenty fast for Windows and pc games. Not going to lie I was hoping to get a little bit more out of it since it is a Gen 4 drive, but still, those are some respectable numbers. If you were hoping to take advantage of the insane speeds that Gen 4 has to offer, you will need to step up to the sn850 series but that would also require your wallet to step up too. When transferring large files, the area where the drive was installed was warm but not to the point I was concerned. In general SSD’s do tend to get warm when being utilized at full load like large file transfers. If your usage involves tasks that will put the drive at full load, I would recommend getting a heat sink to help with the heat. Just a heads up it does not come with a screw to mount it.
Redeeming the code for Battlefield 2042 was quick and easy. Now it did take me a couple of times for it to recognize my code. After I switched it over to all caps I was able to get a successful confirmation, 10 mins later I received my code via email and redeemed it in Origin with no issues.
Overall if you happen to be in the market for a good SSD drive and Battlefield 2042, Western Digital wants to make that decision a lot easier for you and save you some money in the end by offering it as a bundle. You can’t go wrong with the SN750 SE for your storage needs. It's plenty fast for an OS drive or as an additional drive to install games or files to it.

Fast and Affordable

This is one of several WD Black SSD drives that I own. These drives are some of the best drives on the market for gaming. They offer some of the fastest speeds and are extremely reliable.
This is not the fastest of the drives that make. However, it is one of the most affordable in the gaming drives. In my testing I was getting 3500 mbs write speeds which again there are some drives out there with faster speeds but for gaming this is plenty of speed and should be future proof at least for the next couple years.
At 1Tb this is a decent size drive and should be plenty of space to hold all of the latest games. This is a M.2 drive and fits in most of the latest laptops. Its compact size allows for it to fit in even the smaller compact laptops. It also does a decent job of not overheating. I currently have it installed in my PC gaming laptop as a secondary drive just for downloading games onto.
The fact that this drive includes the Battlefield 2042 game makes it even that much more of a bargain. Unfortunately, at the time of review the game has not been released so I am still waiting for the day I can play the new game.
I would highly recommend this drive to anyone looking for an affordable and decent storage size. I believe 1TB is the minimum someone should comfortable have if they plan on playing a lot of games. There are faster drives our there even made by WD but this one is going to be plenty fast for most users at a lower price.

I remember the days of aging Hard Drives that were the slowest thing in a computer, boy times have changed. I’ve never really had any problems with my current NVMe drive, it is a little older though and space has gotten short on it. I’ve used it for so long and it works well, so never thought of upgrading but wow, technology does move fast. This drive is super fast compared to my other drive…
I ran some benchmark tests right after I installed it and it got about 4x read speed and over 2x write speed! These results are amazing on my desktop. I’m beyond excited to use this as my primary OS drive (copying the data over as I type this and its moving quickly).
This drive seems to be a no-brainer for a gamer looking to upgrade, not only do you get an expensive game included with it (over $60), but it includes a 5 year warranty! You also get early access to the game if you get it before the release date of 11/19/21, which I’m excited to check out as a big FPS gamer myself.
Also, for those with limited or no NVMe slots available, adapters are cheap. My slots were full so I ordered an adapter, easy plug and play into a PCI slot.
You can see my results in the attached screenshot, and my desktop is several years old, I’m sure newer hardware will get even better results.

Not a lot to say about an SSD unless it fails to work. Luckily the WD Black SN750 works great, installs easily and is very fast and responsive. These SSD's are becoming a great choice for fast and reliable storage or system drives. Western Digital IMHO makes the best drives. So here I am. Big bonus is you get a full Battlefield game. Its a game I wanted to play and is included for buying an SSD I already needed. I haven't been able to play the included game yet. Looks like the release is in November now. I am using my SSD for game installs and additional storage and it seems to have zero issues delivering the info it contains without delay.
Only issue I had -- MY FAULT. I forgot I needed to initialize the drive in Windows and no info or pamphlet for that is included with the drive. My bad. Was my first SSD install and I was hoping there might have been some coding by now to make the process similar to connecting a external drive to USB and Windows might do the initialize itself. Bios saw the drive without my effort and all you need to do is go to Control Panel > Disk Management choose the new drive and Create New Simple Drive ... for those who forgot as I did or its your first time adding a SSD.

Overall this is a great NVME drive. I'm currently using it as a scratch disk for some Virtual Machines and the IOPS it provides have helped my VM I use for testing perform faster. I like this drive and had no issues installing it.
Getting about 3.6 GiB's Read in Crystal Mark and 2.9 Gib's Write. Which is awesome. The IOPS are supporting my SQL boxes so as a scratch disk its great. Putting games on it I'm sure it will seem snappier but honestly trying games between NVME and SATA drives doesn't seem too much faster except in a few games that have a lot reads where it will shine. Its also nice it comes with the new Battlefield as a code and redeeming it was no issue. Overall this is a great drive and I highly recommend it if you need a drive for your PC or laptop.

Great m.2 gen. 4 drive from Western Digital.
Initially had some issues installing this m.2 into my MSI motherboard, as the SSD as this one doesn't come with an m.2 screws to lock it down into the socket. This is not Western Digital's fault, different system manufacturers use different size screws.
Once I received that screw, I was in business. I do wish that WD had included some directions on how to go about installing, however there are tons of videos on YouTube that show you how to install and setup. I would also recommend people go to the WD website and download their SSD software to manage and setup this drive.
While this drive is a gen 4, it is only a little slower than a 980 pro m.2 I have on the same game machine for things like loading up games. I probably would not use this drive as a main operating system drive, in my case I do a ton of video editing in Adobe Premiere, and if you do anything like that, you likely would actually feel a difference in performance between a full fledged gen 4 drive than this one. However, most people would never really notice that difference ins speed performance, especially gamers, and are way better off saving money and getting this over another gen 4 drive, especially considering this version of the SN750 comes a code with Battlefield 2042.
I really like the Battlefield 2042 logo printed on the SSD itself too. Looks pretty cool in my PC rig with a glass side panel.
For the 95 percent of gamers out there, save yourself some money, especially of this is a secondary office for game installations, or other media storage, and get the SN750. The performance is close enough for those uses!

Bought this as I needed a more memory, and since it already had 2042 for a sale price of around $160. the drive is actually pretty small and that paired with the tiny screws it uses makes it an annoyance to install, especially since they didn't come with the drive. Though once you get both screws, and they're in it's smooth sailing from there. Been using it for the past two weeks, and the games I've installed in it open up lightning fast. So, overall It's a really good deal, just wished that the screws were included
