i actually like this movie. i liked the special effects of the ghosts in the house.i thought the team did a great job on that. the movie is about a couple who loses their son to a car crash. they movie into a new house after their son passes. the woman from the couple starts to feel and weird things in the house. she thinks it is her dead son in the house with them.in the middle of the night and older man and his wife visit their new neighbors and welcome them to the neighborhood. the older man gives the couple a story on how the house used to be a mortuary. he then tells them that they move the coffins but never moved the bodies. the man and his wife leave to attend to other things. a day or two passes and the woman of the house still thinks her son is in the house.from there the lady invites a friend who is a seance and her husband and a friend of the dead son to see if the son can be reached.this really never pans out to well as the spirit in the house is not her son,but a different kind of ghost altogether. watch the movie and see what kind of ghost it is. it is like other haunted house movies, but it is still good to watch and enjoy.

The visual storytelling of WE ARE... is deliberately slow, and considering the movie is recent, this threatened to put me off. Overly artiness for no purpose can be a real turn-off, no matter what kind of movie it is. However, when all the story threads sewn through that build-up (which basically paints a picture of cold isolation) come to a head, the pay-off is definitely worth it. Barbara Crampton is great, as are her fellow cast members, including maverick horror director/producer Larry Fessenden; it's refreshing to watch a cast that doesn't look like a gathering of models. Without spoiling anything, let's say the WE ARE combines classic haunted house material with a healthy slice of Lovecraft & small-town-weirdness.

One of the best horror movies I've seen in a while, far better (but more extreme) than popular horror films like The Conjuring and Insidious series. Great atmosphere, style and accelerating suspense. This isn't "who closed the door?" horror this is in your face and bearing teeth horror. The budget shows, at times, (mostly in the secondary cast members) but don't let that stop you from seeing one of the best horror movies ever made. On top of it being an excellent horror movie it also holds some thematic weight and emotion (particularly in the final moments). Highly recommended

Blind buy purchase as I had only seen the trailer beforehand. We Are Still Here plays like a throwback horror film with its retro setting, spooky atmosphere, and attention to detail. Some minor gripes would be the short running time and rather abrupt ending. One of the better ghost stories among recent releases.

When this movie was first released, I heard mixed reviews. As a result, I put off watching or buying for months. I'm glad I finally bought and watched We Are Still Here. It's sure to become a cult classic. While the story isn't wildly original, the protagonists are a middle aged couple, which is a big change of pace from the standard attractive 18-20 somethings that are usually in trouble. The story is solid and entertaining, the acting is great, and the rewatch value is high. If you like ghost stories, or horror in general, I can't recommend this enough.

Good modern horror films are somewhat hard to come by so it's little wonder that We Are Still Here feels more than a little like something from the 1980s. It's a fairly basic haunted house story and while it doesn't tie up all its own loose ends, but the atmosphere is enough to make up for the cliche elements.

I've only watched about half of this so far, but so far so good. The atmosphere keeps you on edge, and the acting's quite great for an extremely low budget horror flick. Plus, Barbara Crampton's in this, and she's definitely one of my fave 80s scream queens. This one's a lot of fun.

This haunted house movie set in the 70's is a homage to Fulci's House by the Cemetery. A grieving couple move into a house that was a funeral parlor to discover they are not alone and the evil in the house is waiting to devour everyone. Recommended for horror fans only.

This was an excellent Dark Sky Film production of a throw back "retro-style" haunted house film from the 70s. This movie was both scary and gory. Good call-outs to the work of Lucio Fulci. It was great to see the cult actress from the 80s, Barbara Crampton as the lead in this role. The Blu Ray Disc PQ and AQ was excellent. Movie is highly recommended (especially for the Halloween season).

This was a great little creepy sleeper. It had cool effects and visuals and some horror icons and cameos (Barbara Crampton, Larry Fessenden).
I loved it and would love to see more like it.

I went by other reviews before buying this movie. I was not disappointed. Horror is such a hard genre movie to keep fresh and make well and this succeeds.

This movie is pretty strange. It's about a haunted house but it has some twists that make it different from most in the genre. Definitely entertaining.

Not the best of the retro indie horror revival set, but it's a lot of fun especially in the last thirty minutes.
