    Another Heartfelt Cameron Crowe movie

Cameron Crowe consistently delivers heartfelt films about real people. We Bought a Zoo is not different. While based on a true story (going back to his roots since Fast Times At Ridgemont High (which he didn't direct) and Almost Famous were auto-biographical,) there's a lot that's been changed from the original story. The actual Zoo is in England, whereas they've moved the locale of this story to Southern California. Crowe's real gift has always been getting "real" performances out of actors and this movie is no different. Scarlet Johansen, whom I normally deplore since she's usually relegated to the femme fatale role shows us she's got some acting chops and Matt Damon gives his usual fantastic "everyman" performance. The supporting cast is no less impressive in their performance and the story is paced very well, but still gives you time to feel the impact of the emotional scenes without drawing them out.

True story. This is a great movie especially for those who lost loved ones. This story is inspirational that your life even children's lives can go on and dreams still can come true. Also the loved one lost is smiling on those left behinf that life is gone on when we never thought it could. Great to watch alone. Great to watch as a couple. Great to watch as family movie night. So pop the popcorn get a cozy blanket turn lights down low use the pause button. Don't miss it. Enjoy and learn this is your circus day. Enjoy the animals and more.

Matt Damon and Scarlett Johansson deliver a great performance in a touching and comedic family movie with a hint of drama about a widowed single father who moves his family to the country in order to start over after the death of his wife. They find the perfect home with only one catch. It is a zoo! And he can't sell off the animals. If he wants the home, he must manage the zoo. Thomas Haden Church does a great job adding laughs to the movie. Touching, heart warming, and funny, I highly recommend this film!

My family & I really liked this movie. We rented it before I decided to purchase the Blu-ray combo pack. What we really liked about it was the fact it was based on a true story & that there was no swearing in the movie. We are Christians so we are glad that it didn't have any bad language, they should not have to put bad language in a movie to make it good. It is a great family film, especially if you love animals like we do.

    Matt Damon Delivers Again

Matt Damon does it again in this family friendly movie that chronicles the ups and downs of a family that is simply trying to keep it together, and the father who is willing to sacrifice it all to ensure his family's happiness. This movie will make you laugh and cry and leave you shocked in amazement but in the end you will be so thankful and enjoy it; it will truly pull on and tug at your heart strings. Also, the animals in the movie are so beautiful and majestic.

Based on a true story, this movie has some good family entertainment. It's rare to watch a movie about a father, who just lost his wife, try to do what's best for his kids - to keep the family together. I bought the movie, because I admire the director and was hoping he'd give some insight into his filmmaking process. Unfortunately, the director gave very little insight, which was a big disappointment. But it's a very good film.

Other than a few annoyingly cute shots of the little kid, this is one of Cameron Crowe's better movies in recent years. Don't let the cover fool you into thinking this is a kid's film. While the subject and script are pretty family-friendly, this is, ultimately, a story about a man moving on with his life from tragedy and breathing new life into the people with whom he has contact. Recommended.

I saw some advertising for this film when it was released, but heard nothing of it since. I had to buy something costing one more dollar, and this was $2. I really enjoyed the film. Matt Daman does a great job and is very convincing as a struggling father. I would surely recommend this to any family. Especially for only $2.
