The plot itself is not that enticing or exciting. However, for those who enjoy powerful, emotional acting performances will not be disappointed. Joaquin Phoenix delivers an Oscar-caliber performance.

Fantastic action movie with a great plot bringing a troubled family closer together.

Really tense…and powerfully acted…a great movie to watch

since its on blu-ray, you already know it gonna look goo, so theres no point in even bringing that up. joaquin pheonix does pretty good as a gangster/dealer(i guess thats what he is) and mark wahlberg is pretty believeable as a cop, but hes barely in this movie. hes in it maybe 20 minutes total. robert duvall becomes likeable and does good as the dad. eva mendes is hot and is a good actress(you rarely get that). for the most part, this movie is not what you expect it to be, but that s not a bad thing. i was shocked when mark wahlberg got shot in the face at the begining, but dont worry he doesnt die. all the russian mafia people do great and the ending is pretty satisfying. overall, this is a solid mafia movie that shouldve been mentioned at the oscars.

Bought this last week and heard it was like the departed this movie is not like the departed. Don't listen to all that hoopla about it being like the departed. It isn't an oustanding movie thats going to rack my 8 awards, but its def worth the buy. Didn't leave my seat once while watching this at home.

I'd never heard of this movie hitting the theathers or anything, but heard plenty when it came out on DVD and Blu-Ray so I figured I'd give it a chance and was very pleased. The storyline is strong and the acting is 100% on point. Don't want to spoil it for you, but as you watch the movie you'll kinda see the brothers step into their true roles as this family goes through it. Great movie!

It was pretty good movie. My wife and I enjoyed it. I figure for $8 it was worth a shot and it was a lot better than I expected.

We Own the Night is a good movie it has a lot of action and suspenses, if you like the departed then you'll like this movie too

We Own the Night was probably one of the most disappointing movies I have seen in quite some time. The trailers sold it as a kind of action movie. Well, this movie is 2 hours long and maybe 5 minutes of it is action. The rest is seeing Joaquin Phoenix, Mark Walberg, and some various other actors crying about some thing or another. I understand with what happened the emotions, I mean, people die, people almost die, stress in relationships, stress in decisions, but really this movie should be seen as a drama instead of an action movie. If you like drama's you might like this, otherwise I say skip it. (Which it does call it a drama in the description up top, but watch the trailer and you will be fooled.)

You have to be into the plot twisting kind of movie. Then if so this is it. Man this movie is so good. All kinds of mishandling, backstabbing and all sorts of stuff.

I was not expecting much out of this movie, but I was totally blown away. Great action and grat story.!!! Superb and ... just get it.

This movie has a bit of everything action, violence, love, and revenge

the movie was good but the audio was not good at all. I have had vhs that sounds better. I could have just got a bad copy though.

It has a very disappointing ending. Could have been good. This movie was very vulgar when not needed.
