Not sure it will stop another car or truck because it's so low. Seems like they would just roll over it. It's a bit narrow to step on unless you mount it further from the bumper but instructions say to mount it as close to bumper as possible. I am 175 and stepped on it--it's well made but not sure I would put much more than 250 on it even though it says 300. Solid, heavy, but plastic. But again, it looks cool and is a conversation piece. Everyone asks, "What the heck is that on your car?"

I told her it was for her, but it is for me, because I am the one who bumps into stuff. This thing is made really well. It fits really well. It looks great. It works great. I will have one of these on every vacant hitch I ever have in the future.

Not only is it a sturdy step but it can definitely prevent dents to your expensive bumper. Very easy to install. I bought four additional bump steps for gifts.

One hit a light post while backing up in a parking lot shortly after installation and called to tell me that the bump step saved their bumper from damage.
