Received the email to download the Webroot Security for my Lenovo Chromebook. There was an install link provided which took me directly to the Google Play store. I hit the INSTALL button and you do have to place your email address or phone number and choose a password to create an account, then agree to their subscription terms. I then put in the KEYCODE and be sure to keep this code for future use. Although my Chromebook states it automatically protects me from viruses with no extra software required I figure you can't be too safe in today's web world. The welcome screen is next and shows you now have Enhanced Virus Protection, secure web browsing and On Demand Scans (which means you can launch real-time security scans with the click of a button). They next ask if you will allow access to photos, media and files on your device. You can allow or deny this. I did hit allow so not sure what happens if you hit deny. A screen popped up that offered me a choice to SCAN NOW and they ask you once more if you really would like to manually scan because Webroot runs scans constantly in the background. I chose to go ahead and do the manual scan. It scanned very quickly (just seconds) and didn't show me what was being scanned but after it finished in the lower left corner you see Current Status with a green check mark and the word SAFE. So all was well with my device. Webroot also has its own built in browser therefore you can search the web securely for added safety. Next I decided to install the WEB THREAT SHIELD extension. The Shield can read and change all your data on every website, display notifications, manage your downloads and they tell you this before you add the extension. You then put your previously used keycode in again and it tells you how many days are left on your subscription. I did use my Chromebook quite a bit to keep tabs on Webroot but so far all seems good. I haven't noticed anything being blocked or threats so it appears to be doing its job. It did not slow down my device at all either, which is a definite plus. I am not sure if this is a needed protection product but hey, it certainly can't hurt and the sale price is very reasonable. An extra bit of safety certainly makes traveling about online less stressful. If you worry about things the way I do, I'd say go for the purchase!

Geek Squad came to my house with all these things. NEVER INSTALLED WEB ROOT IN WHICH I PAID $25. TRIED TO REPORT, IMPOSSIBLE.ONE SCREEN I WOULD NEED MORE. PLEASE REFUND MY MONEY!!!!
