I Loved This Movie Great Cinematography. The Director Did a Great Job on Telling This Story Especially With the Toys .

Saw preview and thought going to be dumb movie. Ended up getting trapped watching and so happy it worked out that way. I don't ever write reviews but I feel I have to. Watch this movie and I promise you'll love it. It won't be best movie you've ever seen but you will thouroly enjoy it from be beginning to end. Simply a great movie that was wrongly reviewed and totally under watched. As far as comparison to other moves that were under watched and wrongly reviewed my humble opinion the Usaul Suspects comes to mind. Again watch it you'll thank me later.

First off I like this movie a lot. It had a great story line but I feel The FULL story was not fleshed out as much as it could have been. If they had explored more of the back story it would have been a better movie. Felt they spent a little bit more on the CGI aspects than the full storyline. Thy being said I did enjoy this and recommend it

Going into this movie I didn’t really know what to expect. I knew it was a movie about a man with PTSD like issues being helped by friends along the way. What I loved about the movie was how they built the animation scenes around the story as well as how they built the story itself. It was a really touching film worth watching.

Welcome to Marwen is excellent. The true story of this man is incredible and how he created Marwencol, this little village in Belgium. All of the dolls and the characters that were there, along with the miniature city he built is just amazing. The dolls represent people in his life and events that occurred. His photography is amazing and this along with the dolls, Marwencol are his therapy in dealing with what happened to him. Beautiful movie and true story.

A very different role for Steve Carell. The movie starts you in the middle and I was not sure I was going to like it even 1/3 the way through. My advice is to keep watching to the end. I am guessing that a lot of people will love this movie and others will hate it.

Barbie would be jealous that she wasn't cast in this doll of a movie. Great doll house set designs to make any kid envious of what they wishes they could have. Oh the boys and men would say action figures, but in reality. They are just dolls.

The movie is fantastic, but it deals with traumatic PTSD and persons suffering from it my relate to well to the movie. Persons who do not understand PTSD would do well to watch this excellent movie based on a true story.

You have to keep reminding yourself that this is a true story. Incredibly well animated and depiction between his pictures and his mind's animated stories. Well told on several levels.

Based on a true story, it was able to be so terribly sad, but also heartwarming and satisfied with the outcome. It gave hope, even when it showed how bad we can treat each other.

My husband and I both enjoyed this movie. It is a unique movie, and Steve Carell is great, as always. He shows his range in this film. However, it moves very slow.

I enjoyed the movie. You really need to have the whole family watch it together. So you all can talk about the movie on how other people treat each other .

Very well thought out, acted and imaginative movie. A lot of subtle nuances to catch which makes it all the better. Bought it for Movie Night with my baby, but at the end it kinda hit home on a few levels. Makes you appreciate the good things you have in your life. Was also quite funny.

Just got through watching this movie. It will at the end muster a tear or two. It's very different from most films. The acting was spot on, the music score was great. Story line was good. It left you wanting more about the past story line. But a last would not tell you. To know more you must watch the movie. Steve Correll was just great. I am glad I bought this movie. It is a little complicated, but it is based on a true story. Not for everyone but still a very good movie.

This movie was panned at the theaters and was a flop. I thought it was much better than reviewed. Dragan a bit but overall, a very thoughtful film.

This is a true story about a hate crime, and to see how this man overcomes many of his struggles makes you cry. It is very touching and it amazes you how creative this man is. A great inspiration. I highly recommend this movie for your movie collection.

It’s a love story about a guy with PTSD that basically lived his life through his imagination of toy soldiers and Barbie dolls.

Really thoughtful story about a man with a mental illness and his created doll town of Marwen where he photographs adventure and romance in his fantasy of WW2 Belgium. It is also about all his friends in the town and how they support him.

I found myself wondering what was going to happen next and what unfortunate life experience would I or anybody else relate too.
