After I tried several approaches and troubleshooting I still experienced problems with whatever I was trying to connect. It didn't work as a standard having issues finding and starting attached gadgets. I understand they now charge for the service so I guess it may improve i hope but im not paying for it.

Our Technical Support for our devices should be free of charge. If this an initial set up, or has this been working fine before? For isolation, make sure that the handheld device is connected on the same 2.4 GHz network and check if the Wemo Mini is getting an optimal signal from the main network. To maintain stable control over your Wemo devices through Alexa, just make sure Remote Access is enabled on the Wemo app. Your Alexa device must be connected to the same network as your Wemo units too.
