I have reset the device, downloaded the app to a completely new phone, and even changing internet providers (and modem/router) still no go. It was cool while it worked, but now it just serves as a plug inside of a plug.

This is the worst “smart” home accessory I have every used. Every so often, the wemo plugs decide to become “undetected” by the app and you can no longer control the plug to turn it in or off. You then have to go to the plug and reset it; this has happened several times. One of which it happened when I was on vacation far from home and this lost all ability to control turning that plug on and off. Very frustrating.
