The Wemo Mini should be easy to set up. You may follow the steps on the Quick Start Guide included on the packaging and, make sure that the 2.4 GHz network is broadcasting and not hidden since the Wemo device is only compatible with this frequency. Also, make sure that you have the latest version of the Wemo app installed on your Android or iOS device.

During the initial setup and accessing on the local network, all our Wemo devices only operate on the 2.4 GHz frequency band. You can then control them on an outside network, regardless of the frequency band. Great smart switch
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to control power to my high-end espresso machine. The switch is easy to set up and use. There is some note in the app when setting up the switch about changing settings on your phone that are a little confusing. It was easiest to use my wifi only tablet to set it up on my network and then it worked fine through the phone. While I've seen complaints about the app crashing or not pairing, maybe they were issues with earlier versions. You can set it to come on and turn off , based on time or dusk/dawn, or IFTTT. You can turn it on/off from the app on your phone remotely, so it's current state, and change rules. Nice to be sure it isn't coming on when you go on vacation. There are absolutely no instructions for the mini switch in all that fancy packaging - like that you can push the button on the switch to turn it on or off manually. And no instructios on their website either - maybe because the mini is new, but seriously - this must have been in development for months. Get some documentation Belkin. For me the big advantage over the old analog timer I had before is that the time doesn't get shifted when it is bumped by dusting / wiping around the timer. And the flexibility to change / turn off the program if I am away for a weekend is nice.

He not only told me it is a great smart outlet, but thin enough it doesn't take up the whole outlet plate. It's very easy to program and works with SmartThings and Echo. I have purchased more and will fill my house with them. Like it much better for lamps than Hue.
