You have to roll back your security options to accommodate this device. Also, there is no helpful debug information in the error given back. Poorly designed device.

I've only purchased the Amazon plug since and it's so much more user friendly than this one. Once it's connected then it's fine. But the Amazon plug is much easier to use.

But the scheduled option when you are away is not reliable. I set the schedule on at 9 pm to 11 pm. Between 9-11 the lamp was on and off 3 times. Quite disappointing. Would rate 5 stars if wemo can fix the app.

It looks like the Away Mode is enabled, causing the Mini Plug turns on and off randomly between 9pm to 11pm. If you want to completely turn in on or off on the specific time, we suggest using the By time, sunrise/sunset option. Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.we today's technology you would have expected this device to have energy monitoring for the price point it is now and back than, few weeks ago i ordered the 2 pack T-Link Kasa Smart hs 110 for around $20 and i also have the Eve smart plug where it also monitors the energy such as the kwh and u can also insert the ur current utility rates...these days rates has gone up in some major cities so its best to know what its being used that is consuming unnecessary power the eve smart plug has helped out...so bottom if you want more in depth go with the EVE energy smart plug, or if you just simply monitor usage go with the tp-link Kasa series

They are a little tedious to set up, but that is a process that has to happen only once. The big issues is with Wemo's cloud services, which is needed to support Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa support. Wemo's cloud goes down often and for long periods of time. Once, it was down for an entire weekend. This last week, it has been down three times. When this happens, integration with Google or Amazon simply stops working. Wemo is not very transparent with causes of or ETAs for resolutions of these issues. I would recommend using a different smart plug if reliability is important to you.
