Worst app support
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just like then other reviews, this problem is more with the app than the product itself, but assuming you bought this to control while away from home, they kind of go hand in hand. This is the worst “smart” home accessory I have every used. Every so often, the wemo plugs decide to become “undetected” by the app and you can no longer control the plug to turn it in or off. You then have to go to the plug and reset it; this has happened several times. One of which it happened when I was on vacation far from home and this lost all ability to control turning that plug on and off. Very frustrating.

Had to throw it in the trash
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this WeMo smart plug and after fighting with it more than any device with a single switch was able to get it working. Fast forward a few months and I replaced my WiFi router with a new one from NetGear. I followed the instructions for resetting the WeMo Switch - all 3 DIFFERENT versions of them - and none worked. Come on WeMo? You don't even seem to know how to reset your own device. The app says one thing. The Online support page says another. The FAQ says a third. A quick Google search confirms that most people who change routers have this problem. Unfortunately, after an hour, I had to throw the WeMo in the trash. Waste of money.

To manually reset the Wemo Mini, you just need to press and hold the power button, unplug it from the power source and plug it back in while holding the power button down. Continue to hold the button down until the light blinks rapidly and release it. Alternating orange and white light indicates a successful reset. Hours wasted: Can't connect to HomeKit nor App

I tried connecting it to HomeKit through HomeKit on both an iPad and iPhone 12 Pro. Connection failed. I tried the Wemo App on both Apple devices and a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 (terrible app). Connection also failed. I tried all of this in two different locations. Connection failed. Frustrating. Don't waste your time or your money on this product. I have set up several other HomeKit devices in just a few minutes on the same network with no problems. WeMo is just a bad product with a bad App. Avoid.

Works well when connected

This even though the Echo right next to it on the same network has no issues.

Easy set up...but unstable!

Unfortunately, My conclusion is that the technology is immature and unreliable.

Connectivity problems

These are constantly disabling external control and will only work while I'm using the app with my Wi-Fi connection. Speaking of apps... These plugs stopped working with Google Home and never was able to connect with any Amazon devices. Currently I'm not able to use Wemo's app because the outlets are grayed out. When I try to perform set up again I get an error message that the cloud is down. Waste of money!!

Nice Hardware and set-up. Software confusing

Setup is Impossible

The app directions do not seem to be up to date, the images of the Android interface are very old and don't align with the current versions of Android. I have tried all of the troubleshooting steps with no success. I would say I am pretty tech savvy, but still cannot figure it out. I have never ever had such difficulties setting up a smart device before.

If you haven't tried resetting the Wemo F7C063 to its default settings, then try doing so, and try restarting your phone for isolation. You can also try using another handheld device upon setting it up and update us then via email at [email protected] if you receive no changes so we can have you assisted by our Escalation Engineers. Garbage

Never could get it to connect properly. I was finally able to get it enabled and remote access enabled (which took at least 5 attempts). But the scheduled timings never one time worked correctly, or even consistently. And the stupid thing will NOT connect to Google Assistant for the life of me. I finally got so angry I just threw the piece of crap in the trash. Utter garbage.

It does not reconnect after power off

Everything was fine with the setup. So I tested them by powering off or simulating a power outage. Once I unplugged them and then plugged them back in, both will NOT show on my app again. It keeps showing "not detected". The only solution to this problem is factory reset. What I have 10 of these? and I would have to factory reset each of them after power outage?

Doesn't work out of the Box

They will not connect to my wifi so they will not work. I will be returning them which I have to pay shipping on. I will never buy another WEMO product again! Before buying these please don't make the same mistake as me and read the app reviews on the app store. The app is one of the worst I have used. It is very slow and buggy.

App buggy, difficult to secure

They resist moving from the original SSID to a new one. Even after following quite a few support articles addressing the problem, (reset everything, reinstall the app, etc) I can't get it working. Time is a valuable commodity, so I'm done fooling with them and will switch to something else.

Smart marketing dumb product

Never completed setup

Had to read piecemeal through a four-page thread just to get the app to keep from closing during set-up and after all that, the switches would still not connect. I'm returning them and looking for an alternative product. If you buy these and they do not immediately respond, spare yourself hours and just return them.

WEMO doesn't list which software doesn't work

Tech support said to return the mini unit because it was faulty. Then I tried using an old Samsung S3, and works without a single problem. What does that tell you? They don't know their product like they should. How can I trust the product if tech support can't really support it? Wonder what other operating systems don't work with it?

Do not buy!!!

Useless

Netgear Nighthawk router and a Pixel 2 phone and it still can't see any of my wifi networks. Took it back to the store four hours after I bought it. Won't buy another "Wemo" aka Belkin, product.

If your phone is located within the range of your Wi-Fi network along with your Wemo Mini Switch, then you should be able to make it up and running with no issues.
