Every time when Steven Spielberg makes a movie, you’ll know you’ll be entertained and West Side Story was very entertaining through the whole movie. Loved the music loved the story and all the actors are amazing in it. Very toughs scene that are so well done that you hate watching it. And very sad ending. Steelbook is awesome

THE STEVEN SPIELBERG VERSION IS GOING TO BE A GREAT AND EVAN MORE SUPERIOR MODERN CLASSIC THAN THE 1961 ADAPTATION OF THE BROADWAY MUSICAL ROMANTIC TRAGEDY OF THE SAME NAME.

Cover art is really cool. It tells you how high tensions are between everyone, before you watch the movie. As for the movie itself. Steven Spielberg. Enough said.

Steven Spielberg's version of this classic stage musical is simply wonderful. I love the artwork on the steelbook. No better way to own this movie.

Can else can be said about the master Spielberg. Amazing! Both film, 4K transfer and steelbook are top notch! Well worth the purchase.

A classic remake from a classic director.Steven Spielberg delivered the goods in this reimagining of a cult film.

I went into this film with trepidation as I am a fanatic of the Story from broadway to Film. This version did a great job at adding new elements and even characters to the story without disturbing the original story. The imagery is vivid but has the old school film quality to it simultaneously. The actors are amazing and the changes that were made to the story (See: America) manage to bring the music and energy of the story to new heights while maintaining the fabric of the OG story. I really enjoyed this film and it o my added to the legacy that is WSS!

As much as I love the original film, and don't get me wrong, it is a classic, this version is an even better interpretation of the source material. For those that may be upset that this film was made at all, please remember that the stage version has seen thousands of permutations over the last six plus decades. Across the globe, from high school gyms to the grandest stages on Broadway and the West End, this story and the unforgettable music that goes with it, have brought audiences to their feet.

Spielberg's artistry meets a classic romantic musical - was there any doubt there'd be some serious magic happening? A vibrant singing adventure highlighted by the rightly award-winning debut of the angelic Rachel Zegler as Maria (and how about that spicy mama Ariana DeBose as Anita? RAWR). The only weak link in the whole affair is sadly the other lead actor Ansel Elgort as Tony, who's serviceable as a singer but a black hole of charisma next to everybody around him.

As expected, an extremely well done retelling of a classic tale. Upon the end credits you read "For Dad" -- so it is safe to say Spielberg held himself to a high standard when making this movie. I will admit that Ansel as the lead plays the course par compared to the rest of the cast, but I do not think that takes away from the movie itself. With a cast so rich, it is hard to go wrong. I have no strong opinion on which movie version is better, but I do know this newer one pays lovely tribute to it while trying to be its own retelling. Highly recommend. The steelbook is quite unique and getting this for my mom was a choice I standby!

I know this was a passion project for Spielberg and so I was worried it might not feel as necessary for me as him after I watched it. Anyway I purchased this hopefully and it paid off. For a film that I was so familiar with (storywise, choreography, overall look,) it feels like such a fresh original film. Beautiful in this 4k presentation. I was wowed.

Excellent! The steelbook packaging is minimalist and dynamic, and the 4K disc looks and sounds great with HDR and Dolby Atmos. All the bonus featurettes are on the included standard Blu-Ray disc and include breakdowns of the various songs and scenes, as well as isolated musical numbers so you can skip right to a favorite.

Outstanding new adaptation of the 1957 Broadway musical. While the 1961 film is widely loved it does have its shortcomings and this new film does a much better job at anchoring the story is a more realistic setting. Colorful and beautifully shot, danced and sung, for my money this is the gold standard. Love it.

I wasn’t sure that it was necessary to do another movie of West Side Story since the first one was wonderful. I was wrong. This movie was great. The cinematography was beautiful. Ariana DeBose as Anita was the highlight of the movie. I brought the steel book version of the movie because I liked the artwork.

I just love the cast. Not my favorite musical but this version is top notch. Exciting, great dancing. Beautiful vocals. I love that it’s a bilingual film with no subtitles for the Spanish parts but some others may have trouble if you do t k ow basic Spanish.
