wow as a conceptual film the west world sage was a good film idea what we see is a area being viewed and calculated by yet another group of stand by controller type people something im not sure has be used as a plot im sure the series was highly acclaimed for this reason alone and much more a good and entertaining visual experience

The first season of Westworld, a made for TV 10 episode series that aired on HBO in 2016. It begins the franchise by building on the characters in this dark future AI Wild West amusement park world where there are no consequences for criminal actions for those who are willing to pay to play out their fantasies, since the victims are all robots. But what if these lifelike androids don't want to be the victims anymore? That is the premise of the ongoing plot, which is what made the 1973 movie and its sequel (1976) popular. This First season was highly acclaimed by both the critics and the fans, which produced another season to be aired in 2018. A must for sci-fi western fans.

I enjoyed this season. An interesting mix of futuristic technology intertwined with wild west vibes. The development of the characters and layering of the story added depth to the overall theme of season 1. Intrigued to see how the story continues in season 2. Cool methods of acting from some of the cast that lend to the immersiveness of the west world environment. If you like futuristic shows and AI you will likely enjoy this. A different means of defining life in this one than from other similar movies/shows.

HBO has done a great job updating Westworld for a modern audience. In this series, we see humanity's heroism and cruelty on full display, sometimes within the same character. The cast is spectacular. The story is engrossing. Westworld is worth watching again, especially since the robots (hosts) don't age, so the audience may not realize that there are multiple timeframes being told simultaneously until it is revealed near the end. It's a fun blending of Sci-Fi and western, and sex, violence, and philosophy.

Great HBO series. The acting from the star studded cast is amazing. Also the sets are amazing with the western theme in season 1 to the Japanese theme in Season 2. A mix of great story telling and rawness reminds me when I first watched Sopranos or Deadwood. Highly recommend. I watched the first 2 seasons on-demand through HBO, but ordered the discs to rewatch after my HBO trial runs out.

Having seen the original Westworld movie with Yul Brenner, I looked forward to the tv series. The show is great and really shows more of what a fantasy world of robotic humans would be like - pluses and minuses. I binge watched the entire first season and plan on watching it again soon to see what I might have missed the first time. This is not a show for kids though.

I had watched this series on HBO when it came out and it was really good. I got a really good deal from Best Buy on the Blu-Ray so I wanted to go ahead and pick it up to own. The series is a little hard to follow at first, but it gets good. I recommend watching it at least a second time to pick up all of the things you missed the first time.

I watched this on hbo and was blown away. Based on the 1973 movie of the same name, the series follows characters who live out there fantasies in a futuristic park filled with robots known as hosts in a western themed setting. The acting, writing, music, and special effects are absolutely top notch. A great show with some great twists.

Westworld can be a frightening show to watch, but it is just as good as everyone says. Can't wait until Season 2 goes on sale. This was an awesome price-point for the whole season on Blu Ray. I am on furlough right now because of D.C., so I will just stay home and watch my sale-priced copy of Westworld, thank you very much.

I saw my first episode of Westworld during a free weekend on the the premium channels and was immediately hooked. Then I saw it again on another free weekend and could see that this is a series that will hold up for a long time. I look forward to binge watching the first season of the series over the course of a few days.

Westworld is one of the best shows on TV, and that is the worst way to watch it is weekly as it airs. Binge this show quickly, it has so much going on with the plot that’s it’s best to keep everything fresh and do it quick. Great storytelling and very deep narrative for those that enjoy more philosophical stories.

Westworld is a story about how, in the not too distant future, robots can simulate human behavior so well that they become sentient. The problem? Those robots are in a theme park where the guests routinely brutalize, assault, and kill them. It does not paint a good picture of human nature.

Westworld is an exclusive theme park where those who can afford a ticket can live without limits. Partners Arnold Weber and Robert Ford created lifelike robots that pass for humans called hosts. The hosts allow guests to live out their fantasies (without harming humans) in the park. Worth a watch!

I found Westworld to showcase an interesting concept where wealthy adults are able to live out their fantasies through the means of a mysterious “theme park”. I have viewed three episodes so far, and I find myself intrigued with the direction the shows’ storytelling.

Eminently more sophisticated in it's approach than the original (now rather dated) film from the 70's. The concepts are taking to a much higher level and the acting and writing are top notch. And we have Anthony Hopkins in a key role no less! Recommended.

Based on the earlier book/movie, this clever series is a must own in my opinion. Great production/direction/acting. I really love the series as you can really dig into the characters that otherwise are so limited based on a 90 or 120 movie time frame.

This is an amazing series with a great cast and amazing special effects. The series is better than the original movie. I was initially skeptical about the plot but a coworker was addicted to the show and convinced me to try it. This is worth watching.

I was a young kid when the original came out, and Yul Brenner's robot face gave me nightmares. The improvement in movie making makes this so realistic, it's scary. Definitely not for teenagers - there is adult content throughout every episode.

Season one of Westworld was fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed it and the cast was phenomenal. Sir Anthony Hopkins once again delivers a stellar performance! If you are a fan of sci-fi / AI movies or shows, you have to see this. I can't wait to get season 2.
