    Excellent product...some misgivings

This is a absolutely beautiful unit. It is exactly what I wanted as we updated our entertainment system. It went together well with reasonably clear instructions and excellent part quality. One small issue: the unit did not attach to my Samsung 55" television without the addition of some washers. The bolts were a bit too long, but this was easily fixed with a quick trip to the hardware store. Keep track of the 3/4" bolts and the 5/8" bolts. They look very much alike and are easy to confuse. The biggest issue was the shipping. This thing is HUGE and HEAVY. It weighs over 150 pounds. It should come by freight, not UPS. I don't think my UPS driver will ever forgive me for getting this! The box was in very bad shape when it arrived as it was not well packed. Fortunately, all of the parts were in good shape, so I did not have to file a claim. But I sure took pictures as I unpacked it. I unboxed it on my porch and carried in the parts. Be aware that the 3 pieces of glass are VERY heavy. I would suggest unpacking it immediately and have a camera ready to document any problems.

I bought this for my new Samsung 60" Plasma. The stand was rather easy to put together though some assistance may be required for placing the shelves and mounting a tv. The construction is solid and it looks great. I mounted my tv on the optional swivel mount and it still leaves lots of room for other components or whatever on the top shelf. Plenty of room for components on the middle and bottom shelves. I couldn't be happier with it. A couple things another buyer might want to know: My first delivered stand was completely destroyed. The UPS guy had plenty of excuses. Its still sitting in my garage. My second had a couple damaged parts, which the company promptly replaced. I would suggest picking one up at a store if its possible. Also, be prepared for an explosion of packing material when you open the box. I was cleaning up small bits of foam for weeks. Despite the shipping problems, the stand still deserves a 5.

A very attractive and sturdy stand

I bought this stand for my 46" flat panel TV. Since it stands out several feet from the wall in my living room, I didn't want a large, obtrusive piece of furniture that would dominate the room. But yet I needed something large enough to safely support the TV. I must have looked at hundreds of models, and chose this one. It is a perfect size for a 46" TV, and has a lot of space for DVDs and peripheral electronics, such as DVD and VCR players. The front legs are solid wood, and the back is completely open, except for a narrow central supporting post. It has the illusion of transparency, and, while large, by no means does it dominate the room. The three shelves are heavy, black glass, supported by welded steel frames. The construction is very rugged. This is a solid, heavy piece of furniture, and very attractive. Construction is required: The steel frames must be screwed to the three vertical supports, and the glass shelves must then be positioned onto the frames. The attachment of the frames can easily be done by one person. The placement of the shelves on the frames cannot easily be done by one person, although I did do it by myself, with great difficulty. The problem was that the glass shelves float on numerous plastic suction cups which are plugged into the frames. It is difficult for one person to position the shelves with the correct alignment to the frames before the suction cups grab the glass. And when they grab, they really grab! Once the glass is laid down on the cups, it is impossible to re-align it. One has to pry all of the suction cups off, and try again. Not at all easy for one person. The instructions recommend two persons for assembly, and I'm sure shelf placement would be much easier with two. But my warning is: Be sure each shelf is positioned and aligned correctly before letting it contact a suction cup. The bottom line is: I am supremely happy with the product.
