Great speakers but placement is important

I have been using the speakers for 2 ½ months and love them. The lows and mids are on the warm side, but the highs are pretty neutral. My room is 21’ by 12’ with 8’ ceilings. I originally had them paired with a Rotel A12 integrated amp and was happy with the sound. It was very clean with a wide soundstage and had surprising bass for a stand mounted speaker. I upgraded to a Schiit Gungnir DAC, Schiit Freya S pre-amp and 2 Schiit Aegir amps as monoblocks. This set up has made the speakers much more lifelike, improved detail, maintained the wide soundstage and created a much deeper soundstage. The bass is not quite as deep with the Schiit system but it is tighter (still not what I would call tight).
There are a few things to consider with these speakers that might make them a bad choice for some.
Pointing the speaker straight into the room can reduce the
soundstage significantly.
Pointing them right at you can make them a little bright.
The sound is not nearly as good if you are seated outside
direction the speakers are pointed.
It is important that your ears are in close alignment with the
height of the mid-range and tweeter. If you are too far
below or above the mid-range and tweeter you will lose
much of the sound from the tweeter.
They sound much more dynamic when the volume is greater
than 70 decibels. You might not want them if you listen at l
ow volume.
Basically, you will need some flexibility with speaker placement and seating to get the best sound. They are probably not your speaker if you are just going to plop them down in a room. I also think the system feeding into these speakers makes a huge difference. A higher quality DAC made these go from good to great in my system.

Sound quality on these wharfedale 4.2 3way bookshelf speakers is awesome. They are a neutral warm sound and the sound detail is amazing for music.
