This is my first purchase of anything recorded by Sara Bareilles. But I was interested in this album because I am going to see "Waitress" in New York. Sarah is both an incredible singer and an incredible songwriter. I am quite impressed with her talent. Although Sarah has never written for the stage before, I think she will continue to do so. The songs on the album are not typical musical theater fare, but they really capture the essence of the story line. Having seen the movie "Waitress", I am able to follow the story line through the songs. After listening several times, I am starting to hum some of the melodies. I am now quite excited about seeing the stage show.

Let me start by saying I would buy a new CD from Sara regardless of whether it was a concept record, a regular pop record, or the soundtrack to a new musical-which it is. Musical soundtracks have the potential to be quite corny and tough to stomach out of of the theater, but this album works very well as an album no matter what the concept. Sara managed to avoid the corny and put together a very enjoyable listen and one that stands up to repeated listens, much like her regular albums.

I don't know if "Waitress" is a real or fictional musical. All that I know is that the always reliably tuneful Sara Bareilles has outdone herself here, with melodies that melt in your mouth, delicious vocal harmonies, and a story that I'd love to see on stage if the opportunity ever arises. So many wonderful moments here. This is one of my favorite albums of 2015.

I have long loved both musical theater and Sara Bareilles. This record does not disappoint. Her songs for the broadway production of waitress are reminiscent of some of the best theater productions ever done. Throughout the whole CD, Sara has magically created a set of newly familiar yet stand out compositions.

This CD from Sara isn't bad.... But what sticks in my head as I listen to this is that it's a soundtrack from a Broadway Musical. I know..., that's what this is..., but I can't get one tune to stand on it's own..., yet. It needs to be in this collection of songs, at least it does for me. All of that having been said, I love Sara's music, so I'll give this 4 out of 5 stars....

I can only assume my summary is true, since The Waitress musical has not begun its Broadway run yet and I will probably never see it, but this disc is a fun ride. There are several throw-away tracks, from my perspective, but there is a lot of variety and some lively stuff to wake you up in the morning. If nothing else I can recommend it for that.

I knew about Sarah Bareilles because my wife likes her music. I bought her this CD as a gift, and now we can't stop listening to it. Looking forward to the musical coming out. She's not only a great singer, but a fantastic writer as well.

If you like Sara Bareilles then you should pick it up. Catchy, happy, and fun. Reminds me of the movie Waitress with Keri Russell for some reason even though it has no connection to it that I know of.

amazing. Shes is one of the greatest singer song writers in history. Her music is inspirational on so many levels. It is her most emotional and akward album.

the new album comprises songs for the broadway musical based on the movie. it's classic sara bareliles. fans will love it as will anyone who loves musicals.

I rarely enjoy the paper packaging but the upside is it doesn't take too much space in the car and for storage later and not a lot of waste. If you love sara you'll love this new album.

Her music is heartfelt and storytelling at its best. I have yet to be disappointed with a CD that has her name attached to it.

I was a little skeptical due to this music being from a musical, but I liked every song. Sara Bareilles fans will love it.

Sarah's wonderful voice and her talents as a composer make this a truly enjoyable listening experience!

Purchased as a gift for my wife who is a huge fan of Sara Bareilles. According to her this CD does not disappoint, Sara's lyrics and melodies were spot on as usual.

Sara Bareilles is still going strong. Her songwriting on this album is as solid as all the work she has done since her first album. Right On!
