Love this - have bought it twice

You press the step at the bottom and it rolls open for hands-free access (great if you’re throwing out raw chicken or something and you don’t want to touch anything.) There are 3 buttons, on, off and the one to compress, and then a safety on/off knob inside the door. We had this installed when we redid our kitchen 18 years ago and used this every day, crushing it multiple times a day and had no issues for almost 17 years. Then the last year the step broke on the bottom and we had to pull it open. Then the handle cracked and a wheel broke. But it still crushed our garbage so we put off replacing it for a while. The only other sign of wear was the compact button was cracked and worn on the front but we literally pressed this multiple times a day for 18 years! We just replaced it - with the exact same model. So not only do I love this, but I literally would buy it again! Highly recommend. It’s not super fancy but it’s simple, attractive, easy to use and works great!
