It stopped cooling and freezing food 2 months after the 1 year warranty expired. We didn’t purchase geek squad protection. We are still paying for the fridge and has to buy another fridge from Best Buy and they couldn’t offer a discount or credit. Now we’re stuck paying for 2 fridges at the same time.

Just over a month and the seals are coming off. This is unacceptable! They have already given me a gift card for scuffs scratches that were on the fridge when it was delivered. I would have had them bring me a new one had I known this would have happened. I only accepted the gift card because this was the 2nd replacement they have sent me and it was only cosmetic, this is a defect that will make my fridge run harder and cost me more money in electricity.

It was delivered on Aug-21, today is Sep-13. Seal is coming off in 3 weeks. The seal attached to the freezer’s door is questionable too. It just doesn’t look professionally done.

Good Basic Fridge, strong and durable!

I bought this fridge to replace an 18 year old Kenmore. This one was much nicer. Everything about this fridge seems strong and sturdy. I really liked the adjustable shelving as they seem strong and easy to clean. The shelves in the doors are great as they are very robust and adjustable. The LED lighting lit the inside of the refrigerator very well and was bright and crisp. I only wish that the freezer portion had lighting. The temperature controls were adequate and easy to use. Nice and cold and reached temperature very quickly. Aesthetically the unit looks fantastic. The black finish looks great and appears to be very durable and easy to clean. Other reviewers mentioned this unit was noisy. I did not think that was the case at all. Noise can be a relative thing, but I thought it was quiet and I don't even notice it running. The only complaint I had was with Best Buy as I ordered this unit with the hinges on the left side and it arrived with them on the right. When I inquired with the delivery personnel they told me to call the store and they would send a tech out. When I called the store they told me the delivery crew was suppose to do it. I was left in limbo waiting a few days for Best Buy to call me back. Rather than wait I read the installation instructions and swapped the door hinges and handles myself. I am a very technical and handy person and this was not an easy task. I was able to complete the swap and the refrigerator and freezer have been running flawlessly for about four weeks now.

The adjustable shelves on the door are very useful, with enough space to store two 1-gallon jugs of milk. Plus, store all my other condiments, soft drinks, and malt beverages. Both crispers work as intended, for storing fruits and vegetables the the humidity set in each compartment according to what is stored there. I do like the glass shelves, and how the meat drawer can slide to which side the user prefers. I do not understand some of the other reviewers who claim the refrigerator compartment gets too cold, because mine does not. My freezer compartment keeps ice cream frozen to a perfect consistency: Not too soft, and not too hard. All meats and other items remain solidly frozen and rock hard. So I do believe that Whirlpool is correct in their recommended settings for both the refrigerator and freezer compartments. The freezer compartment is also cavernous, one of the largest I have seen for a refrigerator this size. On door reversals: Yes, the doors and frame on this model are tapped correctly if the door must be reversed. However, the pegs are difficult to seat fully into the holes where the screws originally were. Since I do not recommend reversing the door on any refrigerator unless it is absolutely necessary, this will not affect my score. Overall, I consider this refrigerator to be a bargain. Especially when there are many other such appliances with fewer features and amenities for the same price, or even higher. It is also very attractive. So far, I am well pleased.

The fridge is a decent size for a small family. It runs quietly. I like that there is about an inch of space underneath it and is easy to move around on the wheels to keep the floor clean. The shelves on the door hold quite a bit and the bins are clear so you know what is stored in them. I miss having a light in the freezer and it's a bit smaller than my previous fridge. I have a slight issue with condensation building up on the top inside of the freezer as it looks like the door isn't sealing properly. That may have to be addressed with the manufacturer.

This refrigerator is good for me-I am a licensed daycare provider and need lots of room for milk, cheese, ketchup. fishstick, etc. The handle has been hard to get used to and the extra wide door & handle have caused some very nasty head bumps-we have to bend down lower than the old unit-plus the light is not very bright inside-too low. I also miss the lighted freezer but I was told that is not an option any more. But it is keeping the temp cold and I am happy with this product. The door spaces are also very generous.

Runs quiet, keeps temperature at expected temperature-. no or little variance. Smaller than our old one, yet holds more. Adjustable shelves a nice feature. Wish the freezer was lit, but really quite nice, feels solid. Hoping it can last along as our old one- 20 years! I would recommend to anyone. Oh yes, wheels under fridge, so easy to move and clean.

My first purchase was a bit of a dud. There were a few problems with the item, such as marks inside the fridge and a gasket that was flattened. My exchange was great! The new item was in great condition and it keeps food cold or cool depending on location in the freezer or the fridge. The stainless steel matches other Whirlpool designs that I bought a couple of years ago. The door shelves are wide and will fit many items. I have tall bottles (balsamic vinegar, dressings) and shorter, wide items (peanut butter, tahini sauce) on the door shelves. The bottom door shelf has enough room for some wine bottles on the side closest to the handle. Just be careful with the shelves as they are plastic and could crack easily. I did have a crack in my original fridge, which was another reason that I returned it. It may have occured during the shipping or the transport and set-up. I do find that the fridge is very quiet. I saw some other reviews of Whirlpool refridgerators that were noisy. This one is quiet. It also has wheels if you need to move it. Overall, I'm very pleased with my purchase.

    Basic Fridge Works Well

Purchased this refrigerator to replace an old but larger secondary refrigerator and I am very pleased with the purchase so far. I needed to get used to the change from a side by side. The cooling in both the freezer and the refrigerator have been very good and is a good size especially without the ice maker or a water dispenser taking up additional space inside. Only draw back is the specifications stated there was a light in the freezer compartment, but there is not one. Since I have had it I realized I do not need one after all. They just need to change the specs because it initially was one of the draws I had to this unit.

The glass shelves are nice as are the glides on the drawers. The adjustable door shelves are a very good feature. Only two drawbacks: the lip on the top of the freezer door does not allow me to push the fridge as far back as I would like it to go, so measure your space and add an inch. The temperature control only offers three settings so I can not adjust it as easily as my prior model. Other than that a nice affordable refrigerator.

Ok... Few good things... Few bad things. Good things. Glass shelves and adjustable door storage... extra large egg/butter area and movable cold cut shelf. It's a decent size inside. The LED lighting is pretty easy on the eyes. Bad things. To keep things really cold you need to set it to max. I tried to freeze a loaf of sliced white bread using the recommended factory setting and all the slices were spongy. To fully freeze them I had to use the max setting. Even though on the factory recommended setting everything else was frozen including all meat in the freezer the bread items weren't completely frozen. Air flow over the coils is only in the back of the fridge. Not like some units where the air flows from the back of the unit out thru the front grill... This has no front grill. The air flow is restricted to the back. It does get a little warm in the back and you can't really store food items on shelves close to the rear of the fridge. Also, to clean the coils you have to take the rear cardboard cover off... there is also a large gap in the cardboard where the water inlet line is for the auto ice maker. I had to put a piece of aftermarket AC filter in there to keep cat hair out. I'd recommend doing this also if you have animals in the house. No, im not talking about your kids.... the other animals. The door has glossy paint and it scratches easily. I had to use an aftermarket polishing paste to cover the scratches.... do not use a regular towel to wipe the doors.... you need a microfiber towel.
