    Good for Small Spaces

There are pros and cons to this fridge. I’m not a fan of the french door fridges but this was the only option for our space(less than 32”W x less than 68”H) that had the most room and a water dispenser in the door. Pros: Has good space inside after we removed a shelf and door bin. Water dispenser with an auto light so you can see at night. You can turn it on or off also but it also comes on when you dispense the water. Has an alarm if a door doesn’t get closed all the way for an extended time period. Its not too loud but it has come in handy a few times to remind us. Ice in the freezer not hard to access. I use a flour scoop that I leave in there to be more sanitary than just grabbing it with your hands. I didn’t think we would like this as opposed to being in the door with the water, but it truly hasn’t bothered us as much as we thought it would. Nice bright interior lights. Looks nice and the “stainless look” matches our “true” stainless steel dishwasher(Some don’t). Its a darker warmer gray, not silver. It can look nice with the best if them. Gray housing instead of black. I never understood why you would want black sides if you stainless steel front. But for this price it should all be stainless for the best apperance. Designed so you can open the meat and veggie drawers even if the doors can’t fully open, which ours can’t on 1 side. This is super smart and not too many brands do this. I noticed Whirlpools side by side did this too. This really helps outweigh some of the cons because it makes what space you have very useable. Who wants to buy a fridge and not be able to open the drawers? The 3 fridge drawers all seem quite funtional for the intended uses. There is a air filter to keep odors down. I like the top sliding drawer in the freezer for small things I need all the time. I can find them really quick. The bottom not so much as mentioned in the cons. Cons: Doors won’t fully open anyway as shown in the picture. Thats as far as it opens on the left! This is stupid. Inconvenient for getting a lot out at one time. You have to keep closing to get around the door in a small kitchen like ours. But it’s liveable. We had to remove 1 door bin and 1 glass shelf to make room for taller half gallon drinks and condements. We have lots more room now. The Whirlpool plastic sign is right in the top middle of fridge and in the way sometimes. The left door opens and closes without the right door opening, but its harder to do. The freezer has a fixed divider down the center of the bottom drawer which limits what you can put in there. Dumb. Its also harder to find things in this type of freezer. You just have to stack stuff on top of everything and then take it out to find things. But all bottom drawer freezers are like this and why I’m not a fan. But it’s something I can get used to for the size constraint. Magnets stick so it’s not true stainless steel. This is “stainless look” and I guess its cheaper to make but I would prefer true stainless for the price. Removing the plastic wraping. Its stuck around everything and is really hard to get off. I was careful and used tweezers around the water dispenser but we still have to remove the handles yet to get it out from behind. There is some kind of glue that had squished out I guess between the stainless at the top and bottom of the left door. You can kind off see it and definitely feel it. Its ruff. It’s upsetting with a $1,400 refrigerator. Some came off with stainless cleaner but its still there and it bugs me. This is not very fingerprint resistant which I think it says it is. But neither is true stainless. If you get a good stainless cleaner who cares. Stainless cleaner removes and helps resist finger prints anyway. This is only a con if you think you won’t have ever get fingerprints. The edges are sharp on the stainless steel handles. It’s not anywhere you will touch with your hands but only noticed it when cleaning as it caught the cloth and tore it repeatedly. Again shouldn’t be on an expensive fridge. Overall just feels lightweight and a bit cheap compared to our GE profile we had before. That felt solid when you opened the doors. The water dispenser is very shallow only about 1-1/2” deep. I’m sure this was to save space inside. It’s just you have to be careful and you cant set a glass there. But it serves its purpose. It is a loud when the ice drops. It scared the crap out of us for the first week. This is lessened by having more ice in the bin for it to drop on. But if the bin is empty oh my gosh. Thankfully our kitchen is at the opposite end of the house from our bedrooms and living room. The motor is a bit loud when running too. But its not too bad. Just shocking that a new fridge would be loud at all. The top of the fridge doors are taller than the housing case. Not a big deal but makes it harder to put things up there and remove them. I’m sure this was to keep the housing small and save space. There is another filter that came with it to put in to keep produce fresh.??? There is no place for it that we have found. The manual just says to install it but doesn’t show where. Lol! Maybe we will figure it out one day. I guess it’s not really a con just a what the heck? The price! Wowzers! Quite steep for the quality imo. Overall Whirlpool did a good job for a consumer with space constraints on design. But if your going to ask a hefty price tag then don’t cut corners. I want to feel like I got a quality appliance for $1,400. I don’t want to be left feeling like I paid too much money for what I got just because I have a smaller space. No one does. But if you are in need of a smaller fridge that matches true stainless with water through the door and can wow others then I recommend this one.

Ok so we insisted on a French door model and because of the opening in our kitchen our options were limited. This is smaller than many, the lighting isn't as "pretty" as other models, etc. The price is however better than many other "larger" models. Now for some details that were perhaps missing from the description; there's only water available through the door and the water that comes out is not very cold (about 50F according to the manual). If those things aren't an issue for you, then this unit will do just fine. Also the last thing I want to add is the shelves; if you have a lot of tall pitchers, you will definitely need to move them around (or take them out altogether) to make space. Again, if this isn't an issue for you then you're ok. Ultimately if you have a space large enough for a bigger machine (and your budget allows) you would definitely go that route. If you're like us and have a narrow space (35.5" or less width, 68.5" or less height to the case) then this is your best option in a French door fridge.

I really like this Whirpool refrigerator. The monochromatic stainless does not show fingerprints and the filtered water in the door works and tastes great. The shelves are nicely arranged and hold many items.

Purchased this refrigerator at my wife's urging during a recent visit to replace a laptop. The unit fits the existing height limited space in our kitchen as well as our narrow door opening. It has all the features we wanted and looks great in our kitchen.

Best French Door style fridge for the size

My wife and I went with this fridge as it was pretty much the only fridge that was not Side by Side or Top Freezer style on the market that could fit our space(<32"). It was also one of only a few french door style with door water dispenser. We also liked the LED lighting(won't have to worry about bulbs ever again). Pros: Lots of space(if you can find a good configuration of the shelves) Water dispenser Small profile Works well(had ice within hours of hooking up) Deep freezer drawer - Can store lots of frozen items(more than our old side by side, that's for sure) Cons: Limited shelf configurations - Making it a bit difficult to fit taller items like wine bottles, OJ, Milk and similar. Door doesn't swing wide enough - There is a stopper bracket mounted near the bottom hinge of each door, but removing it only grants a few more degrees of opening, not enough to make a difference. The door shelves are so large, combined with the door only opening so far, that you need to squeeze your way into the main compartment of the fridge to really get anything. We knew when buying it and having looked at the floor model that we would have to deal with some of those cons, and it was still worth the purchase. It is a good price and well-featured fridge for the size we needed.

I had my old refrigerator for almost 12 years. It did what it needed to, but it started dying slowly. Therefore, I needed a new one. I decided to go with Whirlpool because I trust the brand. Also, this one in particular fit my very small space. The water and ice maker are fantastic. Also, I've noticed that all my food has stayed very fresh since I bought it. The one complaint I woudl have is that there isn't a ton of room in the freezer, but I make it work.

I am a serious cook. I love to cook from scratch and I love to entertain. I also love chilled white wine and my husband loves cold beer. We purchased a huge Victorian home that has a wonderful, spacious kitchen, but like many old homes, there was no changing the tiny space for the refrigerator. Therefore, I had no choice but to get a smaller fridge. Best Buy didn't even have this particular model in their store, so I had no opportunity to actually see the true size before it was delivered to my home. I was so worried I was going to be getting a fridge that was dorm sized, because in the pictures provided by Whirlpool, it looks like hardly anything fits in there! Wow, was I surprised once the fridge was delivered! We are able to fit WAY more in there than I ever thought possible! In the door, I have a gallon of milk, a large bottle of half & half, AND a pint of heavy whipping cream in just one shelf! One of the shelves in the main fridge is adjustable, so you can push it back to fit several larger standing bottles or pitchers of juice or wine. One thing I do not like is the condiment caddy - I don't ever see myself using it, and I think if it had been a regular shelf, it could've offered more space. As for the freezer - If you are one of those people who likes to purchase huge quantities of frozen food when it's on sale and store it, the freezer will not be adequate enough. It is pretty small, and I assume something like a large boxed frozen pizza wouldn't fit in there, but we generally don't purchase frozen food, so it's totally fine for us. I also like to make pasta from scratch and freeze, which requires placing it on a cookie sheet and freezing it before putting it into bags - the top RH portion of the freezer accommodates my medium sized cookie sheet perfectly, so I am happy about that. As far as the actual operation of the fridge, it chills and freezes everything just fine. In summary, if you're a cook who doesn't mind playing a bit of Tetris with your fridge and you don't need an enormous amount of freezer space, this model should serve you well for daily use. I will still have a garage or basement fridge for extra drinks (lots of beer bottles don't fit standing up in this fridge, although lots of cans will fit), and also for holidays or large parties when I have to make many things ahead and store in the fridge.

We have a really small opening in our kitchen for refrigerator took a lot of looking and found this one. We had to remove the doors to get it in place because of our Island but once it was in it perfect. Dew Tour Island the opening for doors had to be French doors as a full frigerator door would just hit the island and stop and then you can get to half the fridge so this was a perfect time for us. It has lots of internal space we fanageled the drawers and door bins around, actually ended up taking two out just so that I had some more usable space for what I needed but overall it's a great fridge for my small space

I have an older home with a small space for a fridge. I could have gone traditional, but I really wanted a unit with French doors. This is great. I wish it had an ice dispenser in the door, but no biggie. Clear drawers and shelves are easy to clean. Gets a little smudgy on the exterior, but could be a lot worse.

We have a small and odd space. This fridge fits well while keeping the water/ice feature. It's quiet and nice looking with decent internal space. That said, the right door is not flush on the side and doesn't appear to have a great seal. The inner seal on the left door doesn't fit snugly in top latch, thus usually stays our when opened. When shutting the doors, they always require an extra push to make sure the seal is good. It is installed level on all sides with the front slightly higher than the rear. Obviously we will be calling for a fix.

This was as big as we could go in the size we had and I really wanted a french door refrigerator only thing you can't get ice maker in the door but you can get it with the water and there is a ice maker in the freezer part love it all my husband wishes the water would be a little colder the longer it runs the colder it gets but I do not feel we should have to waste 4 glasses of water to get one cold glass of water other than that we love it lots of space!

So we had a restricted space for a replacement fridge and this was the most full featured 32" wide french door style we could find. Nice looking and went in fine but the icemaker did not work right off the bat (exceptionally slow) so we called Whirlpool and they were great about getting a technician in the next day to replace the icemaker. That being said this fridge makes ice pretty slowly in my opinion and does not seem to fully fill the bin (there is a fair amount of dead space) but the amount is adequate so one star off for what I consider a sub-par icemaker. That said it is a pretty good fridge with decent organization considering the amount a cubic feet that are available. As others have said the interior trim is a bit flimsy but it all works pretty well (had to realign the trim on the bottom door as it pops out easily a few times but we got the hang of it). Also there is a need to rearrange the door bins a bit if you want to fit things. Not heaps of height but adequate once again considering the dimensions of this smallish fridge. All in all it seems to work well in the little over a month we have owned it and it is certainly a big upgrade from our old one. Interior lighting is excellent and it maintains temp quite well at stock settings.
