Way over priced for a 30" French Door

To start off first I liked Best Buy and we went in to find a good fridge at a good price. They had this fridge and was at a very good price and and after the sale went fine. So more about the fridge it 's way over priced and I feel it's know where worth $1500 at $999.00 is the correct price for this fridge. The ice maker works good and the water in the left door works ok but takes a bit to get cold water from it. So for $1000 or less very good buy but at $1500+ look at someother brand at BB. To Whom it may concern, Hello. HELP!!!!! We purchased a Whirlpool Refrigerator from Best Buy in Jackson, Michigan model WRF560SEYB05 mid-June. Delivery and installation occurred July 17, 2017. The refrigerator functioned reasonably well with exception to poor production of ice for approximately 2 weeks. It then began to make noises, similar to a helicopter hovering overhead. It then ceased to operate. The old GE refrigerator which we have owned for approximately 25 years operated admirable. It was functioning just fine, when it was removed, upon installation of the new one. All of our food product, condiments, were in the new refrigerator. After new refrigerator failed, our only other alternative was to attempt to relocate some of our items into a small auxiliary refrigerator we keep in our basement. Also important to note, we garden, can and freeze assorted vegetables, for use throughout the winter season. This was a very bad time for refrigerator failure. We contacted Best Buy of Jackson, noting we purchased a 5 year warranty/guarantee for the unit. As the unit was less than one year of age, they referred us to Whirlpool. We contacted Whirlpool whom dispatched a repair representative approximately a week later. The representative visited the home, stating he needed to order parts. Upon delivery of parts they would arrange installation. This has been some time ago, during which time we have suffered much food spoilage which we are tabulating as well as significant inconvenience regarding limited refrigerator space and the need to purchase ice from a store, to utilize. We paid for a reasonably good product in good faith, expecting decent operation and timely response, should it fail, especially understanding the five year warranty we purchased. Despite this, we suffered food loss to a remarkable degree, in addition to significant inconvenience. Meanwhile, we continue to await the whirlpool maintenance representative contact with information concerning the replacement component and appointment to install, in order to regain the units operation. I will continue to await their response. I also anticipate their reimbursement for my food loss, during this process. This is a warning to all, research your products, and may I suggest a 25 year old GE refrigerator. I will also note the Whirlpool serial number is VS72088079 for customer reference. Respectfully submitted, Owner of useless equipment taking up space.

This unit had several cooling problems over 6 years. The freezer would work, but the upper refrigerator would not keep cool. I always kept plenty of room behind the unit for cooling and to keep water line from freezing. However, my tap water was cooler than water from the tap line. After the third issue, I purchased a Samsung unit. I have a Samsung on another floor and it works fantastic.

    Cheap, poor lighting, and loud

We disliked this fridge immediately after it was delivered. Lower drawer cracked. They are cheaply made and have no support on the edges of the drawers. My husband was very disappointed with the lighting; only 4 led lights in the top middle. Annoying sound every 20 minutes that is startling and takes away from conversation or tv. Freezer drawer opens hard and is not smooth. Looks okay but I did not like a gray strip at the bottom of the fridge. So glad we traded in for an LG! Same price, bigger, higher quality, quiet, and looks beautiful! No water option but that doesnt matter to us. Dont buy this fridge if you care about quality, light, and overall function.

I had to buy a new fridge after my old one died while I was out of town on business travel. I looked online for days to find one that would fit in my kitchen. I found this one and I have to say it is more than what I expected. It's set up differently than my old fridge but that's okay and I'm used to it by now. It is perfect for my needs and if fits in my kitchen. I couldn't have found a better one that this one.

    refrigerator that likes to fail

I bought this refrigerator in white in 2014 as part of my kitchen remodel. It is exactly what I was looking for & because of that, I loved it ... until it failed last year. Apparently, ice builds up on the rear wall of the freezer & freezes the fan & shuts the whole thing down. I lost 100's of dollars of food but it has an extended warranty, it was fixed with a new fan. I was assured that it would be fine and it was ... until it failed again, last week. Same thing, lost 100s of dollars of food. Since it is still under an extended warranty, it will be fixed again & this time I am getting a check for $200 to cover food loss, which didn't happen last time. But really, the frig is less than 4 years old & has failed twice. My last one was 20+ years & never failed. Whirlpools excuse: none really except more electronics. So we make them better, fancier so that they fail better? I call that BS. I want my old one back

Fridge was purchased about two years ago. Worked flawlessly at first, but then quickly developed issues. After about 8 to 9 months it started making a noise from the fan in the icebox. The noise slowly got louder. Did some research...started seeing some talk that it needed to be defrosted. Did that. Noise went away for about a week. Then it came back even louder. LIKE REALLY LOUD. like a small plane or something. Did some more research...people suggested using a hair dryer on the fan to help with "minor defrosting" as apparently there is some sort of DESIGN FLAW that makes it so the ice box fan abnormally ices up. Anyway was living with it. Today woke up and the fridge compartment wont go below 67 degrees. TWO YEARS AND JUNK.

Many problems-less than 5 years ownership

Awkward double door refrigerator, very clumsy design. Good water filter and ice dispenser but too small for a family of 4. Ice maker broke, just makes a sheet of ice in tray- tech came and made repairs, less than 2 months broke again. Right door does not close easily, hinge is damaged. Also the finish is starting to tarnish-thought this was stainless steel.

    Nice Fridge, but...

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

We bought this unit about four months ago. Aside from cooling, freezing and making ice, the unit has been a nightmare. The water dispenser dribbles after you fill a glass. Sometimes it just dribbles on its own. The water line passes through the left upper hinge, where it seems to have developed a slow leak. There's rust spots appearing around the water dispenser - probably from water leaking inside the door. The interior light strobes, causing the open door alarm to go off. A tech came out and ordered a new door - which can take up to a year for delivery. Plus a new light switch to address the strobing. We bought this unit based on Whirlpool's reputation, but this one appears to have made it past the factory QA testing. We tried working with Best Buy, but, quite honestly, we feel a little led-on because, after two weeks, they finally admitted that there was nothing they could do. So, be careful when you buy a major appliance from Best Buy because if anything goes wrong, you'll be at the mercy of the appliance company. Our next major appliance purchase will probably be somewhere else - and we've been Best Buy customers for a long time. Very disappointing.

    The worst

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This fridge is the worst. The biggest regret of a purchase we have ever made. We have had our for 5 years but as soon as the 3 year warranty was up it started deciding when to work. The issue is apparently with the condenser, which ever drew weeks lists the ability to self-regulate and starts making this god-awful noise le the is a jackhammer in the kitchen. We have to empty the fridge, unplug it, and let our these for at least 24 hours before using it again. Thank God we kept our older fridge in the basement (that we were trying to replace with this) so we have a place to move our food every time we have to play this game. Seeing as this isn't a base model, we really expected it to last. Now we're fridge shopping for the 2nd time in 5 years. I took a video of the noise, but apparently can only upload pics to the site. I wks not recommend this to a friend or even my worst enemy, and honestly this experience has really shattered my faith in the whirlpool brand.

Have had this item for ~ 7 months. From the start, the machine ran poorly, requiring the temperature to be at a maximum setting to just get things cold. The in door water isn't worth the extra money. The drawer alignment was poor so every time you open the drawers, they would fall off track. However, the biggest issue is 7 months old, IT DIED! Lost all my food and Whirlpool customer service was a joke. So, save yourself time and money and avoid this product!

Requires you buy $140 a year in filters to use

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

It works fine. But... The cost is high. This unit has an ice maker in the freezer section and a water dispenser in the door. The unit REQUIRES a water filter that costs $50 and must be replaced every 6 months (or more, if you have kids 200 gallons per filter). If you have it for 5 years... that adds a $500 cost. 10 years? Another $1000 dollars. And that doesn't count the 'charcoal' air filter (another $20 every 6 months). So, $140 a year in 'filters'. Times a ten year life (average time a major appliance lasts)- that's $1400 MORE than you paid. I paid about that for the unit. So, this water filter makes the price TWICE what it's listed as. If you don't replace the water filter, you risk it getting 'full' of chemicals and, eventually, leaking it into the water your drinking making it downright toxic.

scott, thank you for your review. Whirlpool does not require you to use a water filter in your refrigerator. If you do not wish to have filtered water, you can simply remove your water filter and continue to use the refrigerator icemaker and dispenser. WhirlpoolBrand

    Deceptive

This unit has issues with the water dispenser. It just wont stop dripping, service technicians have been here 4 times, replaced different parts and it just wont go away, now they are telling me to increase the water pressure in the building, that the fridge will work better close to 130 PSI. I wonder where in the documentation it states that in order to use this fridge you need that kind of crazy water pressure that will surely cause other problems in the plumbing system

    Truly a horrible product

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

We purchased this fridge due to size constraints. The freezer would accumulate huge pieces of ice on the inside and would consistently leak onto the floor. Luckily I had opted for the 3 year protection plan. The fridge was replaced after six months. The new model had the exact same issues and also started to rust all over the doors within the first year. After a few more service calls, Best Buy was happy to allow me to junk the unit, and apply the original price to a new Fridge (went with LG).
