It's always a sad day when a built-in appliance fails. However, this time it was to my advatage so that I could replace the 20 year old GE microwave. This Whirlpool works so much better! The heating is even and controlled. No more hot spots with frozen centers.

The microwave is so much better than our last one. Easy to read display.

Excellent microwave. This model was purchased specifically because opening was exactly 30” and we needed one that when the door was opened that it would not rub against the wall. Beside that, it’s features and size are big and worthwhile.

There are scratches all over the keypad. I don't believe there is a disposable cover so the scratch appears to be imbedded.

We knew the measurements of this microwave and that it would hang down a couple inches more than the old one. We did not know that that meant it could not be installed flush with the wall behind it. The friendly and competent Geek Squad installer had to make it stick out to clear the ceramic wall tiles that were behind it and he did that with washers. Unfortunately since our microwave is over the stove in a corner, the cabinet doors to the left and right now hit the microwave when they are partly open, less than 90 degrees, so we installed clear bumpers on the microwave to prevent damage to the cabinet doors. That aside we like this microwave, it is easy to operate and does the things we use it for pretty well. It does take a small bit of effort to find the various possible subsettings, but once you figure that out it is easy and they are useful. It is noticeably quieter than our previous microwaves, a big plus. The "plate" setting has overheated the food too much for us. The incandescent light underneath is way in the back so it does not light the front burners on the stovetop much at all so we installed a bit brighter LED bulb which helps. I wish the control panel was back lit as others have noted. The fan has several speed settings and the fan works well. The microwave is quite large inside, so you can fit a big pot or pan, such as a 7 by 11 inch casserole, the turntable is 14 inches diameter. While I wish due to our unusual kitchen configuration we had chosen a smaller oven, it is our hope that we will get used to the cabinets opening less than 90 degrees. If you want a big attractive microwave oven that works well, at a good price point, this is the one for you!

This is a beautiful microwave and it's performance tops its look. Quite spacious inside. The sensor feature works very well and the microwave itself walks you through most steps without having to read the user guide. Perfect choice for me.
