Customers are enthusiastic about the 20.5 Cu. Ft. Top-Freezer Refrigerator, particularly its ample interior size and generous space. The overall performance, price, and decent capacity also receive positive feedback. However, some customers have noted the noise level and the absence of a freezer light as potential drawbacks.

Why is meat in the freezer crusty with ice?
Part of the bottom (grey) ridge fell off.
Do you have someone who can work with me on these problem areas? I spent a lot of money on this appliance. Do you really want me to review your product on your site or social media?

This was purchased to replace the fridge in the garage. It is spacious and well lit and cools well. It is a little noisy but I don’t care

Cheaply put together, Made in Mexico, Big Freezer

Large, made in Mexico Whirlpool. Not made well at all, cheaply put together, noisy, not energy efficient, but inexpensive and plenty of space with a large freezer.
Cons:
-Made in Mexico
-Cheaply made -- everywhere. Everywhere there was excess glue at the seams (even gunk between the glass on the shelves), things slightly askew, imperfections everywhere in the manufacturing. Nothing major, but all around you can see how cheaply it was put together. Even the bins feel cheap (thinner plastic than the older models).
-Unit is about 20% noisier than the old unit it was replacing (another Whirlpool from 12 years ago). Not terribly noisy, but certainly somewhat noisier than previous models.
-The outside doors (both for the freezer and main compartment) feel cold (or at least cool) to the touch when the unit is turned on -- not room temperature as with normal refrigerators -- showing the insulation isn't very good (the outside doors on every other refrigerator I've seen has always been at room temperature).
-Energy-wise, it's only so-so, with a rating of 436kw/h (it's not EnergyStar rated and not very efficient). Compare that to numbers in the high 300s for EnergyStar rated ones of similar size.
-No LED light in the Freezer. Really, Whirlpool? Really?
Pros:
-Cheap. When on sale it can be an ok deal (if the thing lasts) for what you get. If you don't have a lot of money, you get a big fridge and large freezer for a moderate price.
-Lots of freezer space: the 6.1 cubic foot freezer is nice if you freeze a lot of things as I do. Much bigger than 18 cubic foot models that only have 4-5 cubic foot freezers (the main reason I bought this, instead of better-made 18.2 cubic foot models from GE or other makers).
To me, Whirlpool is no longer the brand it used to be -- not at all -- and is no longer a selling point. I don't mind it being made in Mexico (as a lot of brands are made there now) but unless you pay through the nose for their high end models, you now get cheaply put together stuff that is manufactured in Mexico very sloppily. I would NOT honestly recommend it to a friend, but did buy it myself for the affordability and large freezer size. My suggestion is to look for the features and size you need, and purchase based on that, NOT on the brand anymore. Also, if you have a credit card that doubles the manufacturer's warranty, it might not be a bad idea to put it on such a card.
The main selling point is the price (affordable when on sale) and the large freezer and main compartment space. I've had it a relatively short time, and it works. We'll have to see for how long.
Not a 4- or 5- star unit by any means, that's for sure. Not a 1-star either (it does work), but in the 2-3 star range.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Would NEVER recommend this fridge. First one I got came broken. Had to have it returned and another one re delivered. The first fridge we received was completely disassembled and i could choose which side i wanted the handles on. The handles already came on the second fridge on the opposite side than I wanted. Not sure if it was whirlpool or Best Buy that put it together but they made it almost IMPOSSIBLE to remove the black caps on the top of the fridge where the hinge connects the freezer door to the actual fridge itself. Had to drill out and remove and took MULTIPLE hours. And due to this inconvenience, it has scratched up all around the 3 screws on top of the fridge. I am extremely dissatisfied and will NEVER buy a whirlpool fridge ever again or buy any appliances through best buy ever again . I will make sure to tell all family and friends the same. Horrible design. Not a person to typically leave reviews but this warranted a horrible review so people don’t deal with the same issues and waste their time.
We sincerely regret the frustration and inconvenience you experienced, and we will forward a copy of your concerns to the appropriate departments for future updates.
