    Whirlpool Stainless Steel Sucks!

Stainless steel is no longer stainless steel!! We purchased this item, and within months had rust spots all over the door. Looks terrible! Rust is excluded from warranty, too, conveniently. Don't waste your money.

Can't find a 25 cu ft fridge any more. Had to buy this as four other companies had no stock. When you don't have a fridge/freezer you have to settle. Worst part I'm told my GE fridge of 22 years will no longer be built. I'm told from now on we're lucky to get 5-8 years on an appliance. This fridge is much smaller. Less than half size shelf in door for large bottles. Have to bend down to see what's in fridge. Things fall out of door shelves in fridge and freezer as the shelves are open at the bottom. Makes a lot of noise. Geek Squad saved the day on installation. Making arrangements for installation and delivery were difficult.

I love my new refrigerator. I especially like the freezer's light. My previous refrigerator was 29 years old and did not have the layout and lighting that the new one has.

I was talked into buying this model by the sales person when she said the floor model I wanted would take three weeks and I could not go without a refrigerator that long! The model has shelving that does not leave room on the bottom or top shelf for containers of juice, lemonaide, etc. because the height is insufficient on the bottom, and the top shelf. Seriously, it makes no sense whatsoever.

The refrigerator door handle broke after 2 years with normal use. A new handle would cost about $70 plus $13 to ship.

Can’t balance freezer vs refrigerator sections

    Posted .

Have owned this model for less than 2 years and it’s never been right. It is impossible to balance the temperature of the freezer vs the refrigerator sections. After losing $200 of meat, I had to buy WiFi temp sensors just to monitor the two sections. The freezer section varies by 25-30 degrees between compressor starts! I called Whirlpool and they said this is normal for this model (???). So you need to be a scientist and have temp monitors just to make sure you can set up the temperature setting and the air diverter setting (amount of air that goes to the freezer vs refrigerator). Because of the wild temp swings in the freezer section, don’t even bother putting ice cream in there. Just tired of freezing fresh vegetables and throwing out ice cream and milk. To make matters worse, I had to pay for a tech to recharge the Freon so there is a leak in the system as well. I called Whirlpool tech support and they were no help whatsoever aside from confirming that these wild temp swings in the freezer are normal. The “normal” temp and air settings will not even freeze ice cubes.
