Poor Electronic Control Design
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Poor quality controls and very expensive to replace. The original ribbon cable from the touch pad to the electronic control module passes through a small stamped hole in the metal face on the stove. Over time the warming and cooling of the surface caused abrasion on the cable and a short that cause the complete failure of the control panel. The equipment replacement cost was $424.00 for the touch pad and electronic control module. The only bright side is that the new control face was redesigned and the ribbon cable now is not close to any metal parts. Whirlpool would not accept this as a product or manufacturing failure, even though the replacement control was redesigned.
