Customers are saying

Customers highly value the ease of use, affordable price, and oven size of this 5.3 Cu. Ft. Self-Cleaning Freestanding Electric Range. Many appreciate its appearance and the speed at which it heats up, while the self-cleaning feature is also frequently praised. However, some users find the glass top difficult to maintain, and the storage drawer could be improved in terms of sturdiness.

    Replacement Whirlpool; Geek Squad unhelpful

I bought an almost identical Whirlpool range 3 years ago, but the electronic control panel died. The replacement part alone was nearly $300, so it didn't make much sense to fix it. I initially did not intend to buy another Whirlpool range, but ended up deciding to take another chance since I had otherwise been satisfied with the first range. However, this time I added a 5-year extended warranty. Delivery was a little confusing. The delivery firm could not locate my house initially, and communication was a little challenging since English was not the native language for anyone involved with the delivery. Once they found me, installation was quick, well done, and within the promised time-frame. As for Best Buy's extended warranty, they have basically made it impossible for me to receive any kind of paperwork about that. (I ordered online.) I received an email where I could click to (supposedly) download a copy of the warranty. The email link sent me to a page that wanted me to set up an account. I figured this was something separate from the BB account I already have. That was not the case. I finally found a page for Geek Squad warranties, but wasn't able to locate anything for me and my specific purchase. Just a long list of assorted and miscellaneous warranties. I still don't know which, if any, of them might apply to me. My initial phone calls to several Geek Squad numbers and online chats have gotten me nowhere. Huge waste of time! I will continue to try to find someone at BB who might be able to actually help me get a copy of the extended warranty and/or let me know if there is some sort of specific number for my policy.

I had to wait a little longer to get this stove because of the bisque color; but, it was definitely worth the wait. It looks great! I haven't used all the features yet; but, so far I like it. The ceramic top cleans up easy. I like that the front left burner can be large or small. I would recommend this to anyone in the market for a new range.

I went online to get the reviews on the unit before I bought it before I found the price to be too low to be true and I thought something was wrong with the unit or it was missing an important feature. But you know what ? It has everything and it works perfect. Very satisfied...

This stove was to replace my 30 year old GE that had a broken clock but everything else was like new even the burners. I did not want to buy a stainless steel or black. This stove has the same color as my other appliances BISQUE. When I took a picture ,you can compare the colors of the bananas and the white toaster. I think I had to wait for the factory to buy the Chinese metal so they can build it in the USA. Yes the bottom draw is on the flimsy size. Just plan to store any heavy pots and pans somewhere else. Please be careful of the ceramic top Geek Squad does not cover it under their plan. I saw a Samsung ceramic top stove that had a 5 year warranty but only one year from Whirlpool. One thing the color is nice and it matches my other appliances. I did not want to remodel my kitchen which I will never get that money back. Most of the appliances been replaced in the last two years. The color is more like white maybe I started a new trend. .Stainless and black is now old colors. The Best Buy store in Nashua, NH have great people and they will match prices from any home improvement store. Just a few errors that I found after it was installed. The stove can not be adjusted lower than 36 inches. The bottom heat shield under the stove was not put in correctly from the factory and a missing cable connector that the installer missed to install. One vital thing was not shown was that the oven should be on for at least an hour to burn off all of the oils that are on the coils in the oven. The smoke was so bad that my wife was afraid that the local fire department would be called. I do not use any stove or oven but I like to use the microwave for cooking. My wife is the cook that uses this stove and she likes it better than her twice the price Samsung stove.

Love how it looks in our kitchen. Both the stove top and oven heat up faster than our old model. Easy to figure out. On the negative side: Wish the beeper could be made louder and longer.

The coil-top stove in my townhome went out and needed to be replaced. As I have a very tiny kitchen, with the stove unit against a supporting wall, spending a lot of money did not make any sense. I knew I wanted 2 things: a flat-top, and a low price. There were a few options, but this stove was the only one in my price point that both comes in white to match my other appliances, and also has hidden oven coils with a steam clean option. The delivery team was fast, efficient, and courteous. They removed the old stove, installed the new one, and checked that all 4 burners function. I was immediately impressed with how quickly they heat up. A couple of things you need to know: 1) the heating elements come on and off to maintain the temperature you set the knobs to. This is a pre-programmed timed cycle that starts the moment you turn the knob. If you want to quickly heat your skillet to medium, for example cooking a couple of eggs in the morning, turn the knob to high to keep the element on and then turn it down when the skillet has reached the desired temperature. 2) the oven will smoke the first time you use it. I didn't know this in advance, so I panicked and called my repair man. He said to turn the oven on to 500 or more for 15-20 minutes beyond when it reaches temp. Then shut it off and let it cool. This will burn off the residue that is in the oven from being built and stored. I did that, and the oven has not smoked in the 4 times I've used it since. Enjoy your new stove! This one is a good choice!

Pretty stylish unit and so far it has preformed well for me. :) Couple of small issues though. Firstly, storage drawer isn't very deep and it won't hold everything we used to keep in our old range. Even with less items in the drawer it doesn't seem to be built near as stout as our old range's drawer and seems a little flimsy to me so be gentle when opening and closing the drawer or it may damage it. Secondly, around the perimeter of the cook top glass there is a 1/4" size groove with a sealant of some kind to attach cook top glass to the range itself. The groove is recessed slightly and food particles and dust or liquids tend to get in this groove and it's kind of a pain to clean up certain things that collect in it. Since I've never owned a cook top range I'm finding out that it must be wiped down with cook top spray just about after every use even if you're not a messy cook and thoroughly cleaned at least once a month even if you're not a messy cook. Do NOT use cast iron on a cook top or it will damage the surface!!! It is nice to not have to replace the rusted burner eyes and those stain and discolored catch bowls under the burner eyes or see them for that matter. Whirlpool is at least proudly assembled in America so I have some piece of mind in quality. It will just take some getting use to on my part. So far so good, no deal breakers. :)

Nice Electric Range Over All - A Few Quirks

Recently purchased this nice looking range in black/steel color. Oven bakes great. Digital display easy to read. Manual controls for cooktop have a hard to find black line indicator on dark gray colored knob that takes getting used to. Bright markings would work better. Cooktop must be cleaned with soft cloth or will scratch/stain. Lower storage drawer cheaply made.

We replaced a gas range due to safety concerns (we have young children and the knobs are in the front). This electric range is by no mean the top of the line, but for the price it is pretty good. A nice feature is that you can clean it fairly easily. Just pour a little water in the bottom of the oven, heat it up, and it steam cleans. One thing that I wish it had was an indicator as to which burners are still hot, for some reason they don't have this. There is just a basic light that says the oven is hot. We have always had good luck with Whirlpool, so I would recommend this to anyone looking for a lower cost electric range.

This is a great stove for the price... Just a couple of comments: 1) the glass top scratches easily so you have to be careful with 'heavy' pans, and 2) the storage drawer is a bit 'flimsy'...

This is the first glass top range we have had, and so far we like it. I also like the fact that the baking element is hidden. We have not used the self-cleaning function yet, but we know that the hidden element will make it much easier to remove the debris from cleaning.

The top seems to stain easily if any spills while it is hot. Other than that great stove for the price and functions well. Also looks great, in addition to heating up extremely quick.

Good, clean looking and easy to clean, I wish the instructions were a little easier to read and understand. I did not realize it when I bought the stove that I would have preferred one large burner and one small burner in the back and one large burner and one small one in the front. Plus the one large burner which has a smaller one within it for rapid cooking is on the left side where my wall is and I cannot get the full benefit of it with my large pots.
