I bought this unit to help cool a 3-season room. It cools nicely and I love the compact size (more stout than tall) b/c it can fit underneath an open plant rack and take up any ad'l space from the room. My two pet peeves are that the window exhaust system does not have a screen to the outside. Being concerned that bugs and possibly birds could try to next in the tubing I rigged a screen over the opening (unfortunately the diameter of the opening isn't the same size as as dryer vent I couldn't use standard exhaust screens, thus I created my own screen using binder clips to hold in place). A bit of chore, but it works and I feel more secure knowing critters can't come in. This is something that Whynter should consider when designing these. Customers' windows are not all the same, especially across the country. My last pet peeve is that I wish the drain plug could be accessed easier, like on the side. It's difficult to raise the unit by myself, push a cookie sheet under the unit, pull the plug and quickly put it back in when the pan is full w/o spilling water. Whynter, how 'bout building in to the unit legs that can be lowered or raised to help with this? In humid areas of the country, like here in Indiana, this would be helpful. I recommend this unit, but with reservations.

A/C gets room extremely cold. Manual hard to read.
