Great tablet, great price. Controller works great with emulators. Most apps work with the controller decently, but it would have been nice to have some software included to customize the controller's buttons.

The Wikipad 7 is a nice little android tablet. I've been wanting to get an android tablet with good game controls forever, because touchscreen controls suck for any kind of fast paced game, now there's finally one available.
It would be nice if more games supported the controller, but I play a lot of emulators and most of those have fully configurable controls. Also the Android versions of the Grand Theft Auto games work with the wikipad controller, although they don't let you remap the buttons.

Extras are very hard to find for the Wilkins pads. I have been able to order carry cases on line but so far tablet protectors for when the tablet is out of the game control are not available. Tech support in the stores are not yet familiar with the product and nothing extra for the tablet is available in stores. Over all we are every happy with the build and functionality of the tablets.

The lack of formal reviews on the WikiPad is astonishing and it prompted me to write one.
I wanted a 7” tablet and I did extensive research on the Kindle HD and Nexus 7. After comparing specs on the three it came down to the Nexus 7 and Wikipad becuase of their Quad Processors, I decided on the Wikipad because it has expandable memory, a Mini HDMI slot AND a controller for around the same price as the Nexus 7, not to mention it comes with Tegra Zone and PlayStation Network. The device is extremely thin and light with very solid construction. The controller does not feel cheap but it could have been refined a bit more, perhaps thinner since I can see people with smaller hands having trouble (My hands measure about 7” from the bottom of my palm to the tip of my middle finger).
My first impressions on the OS are mixed, app shortcuts are scattered all over the place, luckily android allows you to tailor this to your liking. Out of the Games that come preinstalled Shadow Gun is my favorite, it is reminiscent of Quake, has online death match, and lets you customize the thumb stick sensitivity. Running emulators on the device is great, GBA, N64, Genesis, SNES all work great and allow you to program the controller without a hitch. PSX emulator was a different story, I was not able to program the triggers, still trying to figure this out. Another thing that works great that I am shocked the developers failed to mention is that the Wikipad fully supports ONLIVE. I can play Dirt 3 and Split second without a problem, although I wish my internet speed was a bit faster the inclusion of this is an added plus. Thumb sticks, triggers, and buttons all work (No programming required). I bought 3 games on Play Station Network and the thumb sticks don’t work on any of them. I contacted Wiki Support and they said that they are working on adding support for the controller.
Mini HDMI out put works fine, I connected it to my 50” Panasonic Plasma 3D TV and played dead trigger, there was a little bit of lag on the mirror but playable and have not tried it since, a little more experimenting required. I want to use Netflix or onlive. Also the tablet recognized my 32GB micro SD no problem. One issue I did have is that the built in speakers don’t go nearly as loud as I feel they should. My first gen kindle fire greatly outperforms it in this respect.
My overall impression of the tablet are great, I am glad I decided to go with it, the battery life is great controller works like I hoped (I was tired of lugging around an uncomfortable wii remote everywhere)
I hope that there is more support from game developers. Grand Theft auto plays fine as does assassins creed but these are games I have played before. I would like to see big game franchises start coming down to android platform. (Once the piracy issues are fixed they say)
Hope this helps everyone. This is my first review, so go easy on me.

My biggest hesitation in buying this tablet was it's lack of marketing and hands on reviews. Heck you can't even play with one in a Best Buy store, you can only have one shipped. With the few reviews I was able to find I figured that I would bite the bullet and get one.
It took about six days for it to arrive at the Best Buy store near me. Since Wikipad is a Los Angeles company I figured that it shouldn't take too long to get to the store...I was wrong.
The device itself is really well made. After reading up on the Wikipad 7 I knew that it was going to be a solid tablet, but it is exceeding my expectations. I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 that has a dual core processor which works great. The Wikipad 7 dusts the Samsung tablet in just about every way ( the Samsung has two cameras, access to Samsung store, and smart remote.) The Wikipad gives you a better screen, more options for games: Nvidia, Google, Sony, and one other. It has an HDMI out cable and is so much faster with the quad core processor. Of course it has the controller ad-on that makes gaming so much easier on a regular tablet.
The build and weight of the tablet are solid. My only worry with the Wikipad is that with so little marketing behind it, it could go the way of the dodo, thus losing it's support in the future. My hopes are that Wikipad will do a full launch which would breathe new life into this little tablet that could.
Compared to the features of the Nexus 7, Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 & 3, Ipad Mini, Kindle Fire HD, Sony Vita, & Nvidia Shield, I believe the Wikipad 7 is the best tablet for now.
Here are the reasons I went with the Wikipad over the competition:
Nexus 7- no expandable storage
Samsung Galaxy- Dual core processor, screen clarity (less pixels).
Ipad Mini- IOS walled garden, lack of expandable memory, expensive
Kindle Fire HD- walled android garden and dual core processor.
Sony Vita- 5" screen, limited access to expensive games. Not a tablet.
Nvidia Shield- 5" screen and limited access to games. Not a tablet. It also seemed bulky to me.

I received this as a gift and I actually had my doubts about it, but this little tablet is great! Tegra 3 processor pushs all the games I play with no problem! I thought the system would be alittle small but it is just right! I think the 10 inch " if they come out " would be to big! Nice screen res. for the price as well. I use it for email, web browsing, most importantly gaming! Reminds me of a big Game Gear! All the buttons on the controller are responsive and feel ok for the price you pay for the controller and the tablet. $249 for a Tegra 3 16GB of storage 1GB of DDR3 RAM 1280x 800 screen and it comes with a controller? Yea I think its a great deal!

Got to use this at an event and it is awesome! Great graphics. Great games. Great tablet. The controller feels good and the responsiveness is right on. Didn't notice any latency and a lot of the games are so much easier with physical controls.

The tablet works like a dream. I bought cause I like to games but was tired of my hands getting in the way. Couldn't really enjoy most games but with Wikipad it makes all my games perfect and if the game doesn't support it yet you can slide it out and play. Best tablet for gamers and regular users on the market. Perfect screen size and game controller and price!!!
