I first saw this movie in a theater many years ago and liked it. The intelligent rats stole the show. When Willard and Ben were released on VHS tape I bought them for my collection. Over the years my tape machine eat the tapes. I tried to find DVD copies but no luck until Shout released both movies Blu ray/DVD combos. So I bought them for my collection. The discs are excellent in picture and sound and have special features.

This movie is great. Willard is a young man with a lot of hardships and ends up making friends with the rats that inhabit his home. It's so easy to cheer for Willard and his furry friends in this movie. The acting is superb. This Scream Factory exclusive isn't chock full of extra stuff as they're known to do with many of their other releases. All we get is a 15 minute interview with people involved in the film. They did a great job of restoring this old out-of-print film though. Also, the blu ray doesn't come with a slip cover.

This classic film is well done on blu-ray. The content is a welcomed addition to my dvd collection. It has many special features explaining the details of filming; and includes interviews with the actors.

I've waited 35 years for Willard to come out on DVD. I loved the movie.
