    Overlooked Gem in Genesis Catalogue

The last album to feature the brilliant Steve Hackett as the lead guitar player, Wind and Wuthering is usually overlooked in the Genesis canon, both by "Gabriel era" fans and "Collins era" fans, the latter tend to overlook it because it lacks the pop hooks of the majority of the group's releases with Collins at the mic. Despite its reputation, Wind & Wuthering is an excellent album, and in my opinion as a HUGE fan of (both eras) of the group, it's also one of their best all-around albums. "Eleventh Earl of Mar" and "One for the Vine" are among the group's finest songs of its prog era, while "Your Own Special Way" and "Blood on the Rooftops" are two of their finest ballads. All of that sets the tone for the album's masterpiece, the trilogy of the "Unquiet Slumbers", "...In That Quiet Earth", "Afterglow" song cycle which breathlessly ends this gem of an album. I DEFINITELY recommend it.
