Daughter wanted tablet for college with keyboard and this fit the bill. Wasn't very expensive and that's what I liked

The keyboard functions fine but the tablet it is designed for has some room for improvement.

Love the convenience of a laptop and the simplicity of a tablet. Inexpensive way to get into a laptop type computer. Con... keyboard didn't last as long as the tablet

    Almost Got It Right

I purchased this keyboard as part of the package deal on Black Friday. The keyboard/base works well as a keyboard for the Unbranded 10.1" tablet that Best Buy sells - the keys have a good, crisp feel when pressed, pretty much like a regular keyboard. The size of the keyboard is sufficient so that, even though it is not full-size, it is comfortable to use. The keyboard serves as a sufficient cover for the tablet - the magnetic "catch" that mates both of them together is sufficient in both the open and closed modes. Note that the tablet only docks in one position on the keyboard because of the electrical connectors between the tablet and keyboard, but the design seems pretty optimal for the resulting viewing angle when using the two together. I have two major complaints, however, with this keyboard, and while these do not make the keyboard/base unusable, they do limit its functionality and value as a base unit for the tablet: 1. The included trackpad is subpar. Unlike a normal laptop trackpad, there are no left and right buttons so that you can simulate using a mouse. The trackpad apparently #mostly# mimics the touchscreen in functionality. Recommendations: A. Download the documentation for the tablet and keyboard here: http://www.unbrandedproducts.com/support B. Use a Bluetooth mouse and bypass the trackpad completely. Make sure that you get a Bluetooth mouse that does not require a dongle to be plugged into a USB port, as the tablet is Bluetooth-enabled already! I purchased a Microsoft Surface Bluetooth mouse #pricey, but as cool and functional a mouse as I've ever used and its footprint is marginal, so you can easily store it in the tablet sleeve pocket, if you go that way to protect your tablet/keyboard combination# and it works GREAT as a touchpad replacement #FULL DISCLOSURE: I'm not a touchpad fan for ANY touchpad!#. 2. The included full USB port on the keyboard is subpar. Some USB devices will work with the included USB 2 port; some will not. Generally, any external USB device that has mechanical moving parts #e.g. external hard disk, external DVD drive# will not work with the full-size USB 2 port on the keyboard - they try to draw too much power from the keyboard's USB 2 port, which it apparently can't supply. This significantly limits the usability of this USB 2 port! My limited experience with workarounds #such as connecting a powered USB 2 hub, plugged in and drawing wall power, to the keyboard's USB 2 port# produces inconsistent results - some devices that did not work before do work, but at a snail's pace, others still do not work, and others that worked when connected directly to the keyboard's USB 2 port do not work when connected to the powered hub! I suspect it depends on the power draw of the external device, and how well the keyboard's USB 2 port "plays" with the powered USB 2 hub. There are other workarounds #such as using the microUSB port on the tablet# but the USB 2 port on the keyboard should have been better designed and engineered to act as a full, powered USB 2 port when the tablet is docked. This deficiency is the biggest disappointment regarding this keyboard.

Almost a must have if you own the tablet

There is so much to like about this keyboard. For starters, it's perfectly matched with the Unbranded tablet. I'm not sure why Best Buy doesn't have a link to it from the tablet's page. It adds a full-sized USB port, which means I can keep the tablet charging all the time and still use USB accessories. The magnet system is great. In the open position it keeps things firmly in place, and I can lay the tablet down to "close" it like a notebook. The magnets keep everything in place. I keep a powered USB hub attached to the keyboard, this lets me use an external hard drive with the tablet. I've only encountered two downsides in the couple of weeks I've had this. One is the trackpad, this has been commented on already. Take my advice, go into control panel and disable it. It's worthless and just gets in the way of your typing. The second is that the keyboard is very cramped. If you are a touch typer you will be very frustrated (I know I am). On the flip side, the keys have a good range of motion and feel good. You're hands will feel cramped though. Even with this limitation I have no hesitations recommending this.

Did the job well, Do buy as a combo

This keyboard works very well with the Unbranded Windows tablet. It locks on great with the magnets and is a lightweight cover. I was pleasantly surprised. The mouse can be attached via bluetooth and the touch pad is pretty responsive for me. This is a must buy as a combo with the Windows 8 Unbranded tablet PC. VERY good.

I bought the Unbranded tablet singly through an "open box" deal and had a bluetooth keyboard but it was very inconvenient having two items to keep up with. This keyboard mates up with the tablet with some pretty powerful magnets and essentially converts it into a lap top.

Not a full size keyboard & touchpad doesn't scroll

This is not a full-sized keyboard so if you are used to typing on a regular keyboard you will have a lot of mistyping. Also, the touchpad is not good and the scroll functions don't work. I would avoid this product. Best Buy doesn't care about customer service at all.
