I have a "long" history with Winegard antennas!

I have been using Winegard brand antennas since the HDTV conversion occurred--now decades ago! I have been living in a condominium development for 10 years now so I no longer have the option of using a rooftop mounted antenna. I am surrounded by buildings which, I am sure, affects TV reception! For the last 10 years, I had been using the Winegard HDTV indoor antenna model FL5000 which is non-amplified and it looks identical to this Winegard-PureTV45 model. I always read the product specifications prior to purchase and the Best Buy ad cites 5.3 inches as being the height of this great antenna; however, in actuality it is around 13" X 13" in dimensions! Also, the length of the "integrated" coaxial cable is around 15 feet in length. It is important for the user to have an understanding of where the TV broadcast signals are located (both direction and distance from one's home!) and there are free options on the Internet where you can enter your domicile location and the mounting height of the antenna. One of them is TVFOOL.COM. My broadcast towers are south<>southwest of me; however, my only window close enough to my TV is facing east and I still get access to 62 TV channels! It is important to note that paying more for the amplified version of this antenna "may" not be the appropriate application for everyone as if the TV broadcast towers are closer (i.e., the range of this PureTV 45 Indoor HDTV antenna is 45 miles) and you use an amplified HDTV antenna it "could" cause some reception issues. If you need to add a coaxial cable extension, it is recommended to use the RG-59 designate over the RG-6 type and I have read where adding cable length "may" compromise performance. The Winegard company offers great product support--long after the original purchase date. Please remember to do regular re-scans for optimal performance and viewing experience.
