If you missed on HBO, a MUST see. best series ever

The Wire was a great series, once I started watching it I couldn't stop.

Season 5 of The Wire was my least favorite of all 5 seasons.

One of the best shows ever. Wish it didn't have to end.

Really, I just wanted to write this review to counter the only other one - which is apparently a review by someone who meant to watch Season 5 (as that is the final season, and the season a major character dies). As someone who loves the show, this season is on par with the others, which puts it in the elite of television. It includes a very well thought out, and thought provoking look at the school system for inner cities. If you have not taken the time to start with the first season, this show is well worth the look, just give it three episodes and you will be hooked. I say three episodes, because the initial introduction can be a bit overwhelming due to the large number of important characters.

This is one of the best shows ever to be broadcast on tv. I know that is saying a lot, however this show was so well written, acted, filmed, etc., that it is hard not to say that. Yes, it is true that the first few episodes of the first season seem long and drawn out at first but if u stick with it you will not be disappointed. You find yourself falling in love with these characters, routing for the bad guys a lot of the time. This is not your typical cops and robbers law enforcement drama. in fact, this show far exceeds any cop drama ever created. Start from season 1 and keep watching, you will eventually get hooked and you will not regret it.

Great series I was glued to my seat! I would recommend this to all of my friends.

For some reason important scenes are left out from the show, including the death of a major character. It is bulls#*&. It was a great finish to a great show, but the DVD does not capture the quality of the show or the last season.
