The Withings Body Smart Advanced Body Composition Smart Wi-Fi Scale is my trust health aide . Most people have a love/hate relationship, but I lean heavily towards the love side with this one. The scale has a premium, solid build quality. Unlike most scales, the placeholder for feet is very spacious. I'm able stand comfortably while the scale took my down my measurements. Setup was easy as the app carefully guided me to get up and running. I tracked my weight, body fat percentage, and other details over the course of a week. So far, these numbers have been very accurate. I own a different scale with similar capabilities, and the numbers resemble very closely to each other. I'm able to view details clearly on the scale, and get additional information from the app which really brings things together. From the app, I'm able to make a plan, get tips, and track my progress. Overall, I'm very impressed. The Withings scale has been a great asset thus far for my weight loss journey and has convinced me to ditch my other scale.

The title of my review says it: after using this for the last week and already realizing how amazing and simple for use and accountability this scale is, I am left wondering, why did I take so long to get one? This takes the typically arduous (and, sometimes, embarrassing) process of weighing yourself and then tracking it in the Health app (for iOS) users and totally puts it on autopilot with the easy connection to the Withings app! I am already enjoying watching the trend lines of my body stats plot out and I am going to continue to enjoy it as I start working on some of my weight loss and workout goals! Something to know, first of all, is that this new lineup of Withings smart scales is FSA/HSA eligible. This will be great for those of you wanting to use those expiring FSA funds on something beneficial to your health. Another thing to know from my experience is that while this can be a little finicky to set up with the app at first if you are any kind of tech savvy at all, you will figure it out quickly as the app guides you through the connection and Wi-Fi setup process! The only hang-up I had in the whole process was the firmware update for the scale which I had to restart when it weirdly froze in the middle of it. I just restarted it by removing one of the AAA batteries from the scale (included) and starting the setup process over again. After that, the rest of the setup was easy and I was up and rolling, able to send my wife the invite link from the app so we could get both of our profiles set up! Now, using this scale with two or more users: could not be easier! When you step on the scale, it takes your weight and before it records it, it flashes your name up on the screen with a prompt to shift your weight right or left to move to the next name if needed to continue the setup! My wife and I are able to effortlessly change who is being tracked when we each use the scale and we are both successfully logging our stats in our separate Withings app profiles on each of our phones! Another thing I wanted to mention is that I think that Withings needs to update the pictures on the product page for the device because the screen images look WAAAYYY better than the old black and pixelated boxes on the previous screen. I actually was astonished when I first used this scale at how nice the color screen looks listing out all of my metrics like weight, muscle mass, body fat, etc. Altogether, this specific scale at this price point is going to offer what most people need in the way of basic body composition stats and smart tracking. Some are going to want to opt for the nearly double-in-price model that “does it all” including scanning nerves, but I did not feel that was necessary for my present health standing. Thanks for reading and I hope this review helps with some good pointers!

I admittedly never considered a scale as anything more than a way to track your weight loss or gain so the idea of the Withings Body Smart Advanced Body Composition Scale intrigued me. With a family history of various health concerns I have started to pay attention to as much of my health details as possible using various smart devices and apps to help me better understand things. Setting this scale up was fairly simple. Downloading the Withings app and following the guided prompts made it quick although an update was required and slowed things down a little. Once past all of that I was able to setup my profile and connect the data recorded by the scale to my iPhone Health App as well as other apps that I use so that an even wider collection of my health data could be compiled. Being able to share a report that includes your data like weight details like BMI and Fat Mass, Resting Heart Rate, Activity details, etc is also extremely helpful. Seeing info that delves deeper than just my weight in pounds was eye opening. The Body Composition Breakdown was especially refreshing giving details or Visceral Fat Index, Lean Mass, Water Mass, etc as well as the corresponding result made it clear what areas needed to be worked on and where I was doing well. There is also an area where you can track your food intake. Although the app shares data with other apps that I choose as well as the iPhone Health App there are a few places you can view all or almost all of the data instead of relying on each individual app, but the insights and informative info provided in the Withings app definitely makes it beneficial to use the Withings App frequently. There are some tracking options that require other Withings products if interested but I found that it's not necessary if you have other devices that already track that data. It is also a nice touch to see info like local air quality appear on the scale screen after weighing yourself for the day. It's not a need but it's a nice feature to see along with the other info that cycles through (such as the BMI info and others that will also be seen in the app if you are like me and sometimes don't fully pay attention to the details cycling on the scale). Overall this is a product I never realized that I needed but completely appreciate now.

Got this Withings Body+ Smart scale and i can say that after just one week of usage it got me to pay more attention to my weight and vitals. I always say next monday but now i don't have to wait i keep track of my body fat, hearth rate and weight on a daily basis and the coolest thing is that all that it's being send thru the app on my phone which like everyone i use it at all times and that's a good reminder of what i have to do to reach my fitness goals. So out of the box it just looks super nice and it's got a rather large glass surface to place your feet. -They recommend to step on it with your bare feet for an accurate reading and i can agree it is really accurate. -Set it on a hard surface the way it comes out of the box or use the 4 additional legs they provide if you want to set it on the carpet. -Download the Withings app, add the scale to it and set up the wifi. It's verry simple to do it since the scale has a colored screen that will inform you all the steps till completion. The app itself is complex but easy to use and i like the fact it can connect to my apple health app and combine all the information to give me a nice overall picture of what i am doing or i should do to reach my goals every day. -You can have up to 8 users which is very helpful. -The screen on the scale itself it is large and colored so after the initial setup on your phone will display every measuring you told it to so you don't necessarily need your phone to have all the readings(weight, bmi, fat, muscle, visceral fat, water, bone, hearth rate even outside weather and airquality). It's got some arrows in each corner of the screen pointing at where you should position your weight so it will give you the best reading. I would say this is a must have in each household! It's very well money spent for such and accurate device!

For the price, this is a great scale and with unique tracking metrics. While the scale is similar to other smart scales from the last ten years, the main draw is in the connections formed within the Withings app and it’s interplay with Apple's Health app on iOS (and presumably it’s equivalent on Android). The app tracks all of your progress within the app with easy to read graphs while introducing goals for tracking your health and weight. I found these to be pleasant, with the fallback knowledge that these are also helping other apps within the connections being tracked by Health. The scale itself is nicely built, with a color screen that’s a step up from my older smart scale. Every time you step on it displays not only your weight, but also fat and muscle composition, heart rate, air quality and weather for the day. This is customizable, but I found the slideshow format to be fast enough in its defaults to be useful. The scale is quite grippy on tile floors and comes with footings for placement on thick carpets as well. I’m almost 40, so I’ve been looking to better maintaining my health to specifically avoid the ailments that I’ve seen others in my family endure as they aged. I only learned recently that my family is prone to diabetes, so all facets of health are useful for me as I aim to avoid it entirely. Weight also causes a lot of stress on joints, bones and the body in general, so getting it right is an important goal now. I have a smart watch and have been tracking exercise for a while but I also track my diet within another app, and now even more with this Body Smart scale. I’m getting new insights into my body composition which is really cool. While I lose weight, I get to see how that also affects my water weight, fat around organs, and overall muscle mass. These were not things I could really get insight into before, so it’s yet another motivation as I reach my goals. Speaking of goals, the Withings app also provides this goal tracking within its app. Set a goal and it will predict how fast you may reach it, based on its exercise, step, etc. readings and insights imported from the OS (opt in.) So far this is nice to see and I’m excited to be able to have a keen eye on my muscle vs fat ratios while I’m also building muscle in my workouts. If you’d rather track your data without seeing your weight every day, you can choose to hide that from view with the ‘Eyes-Closed’ option. Setup is mostly straightforward, but mine got very confused in multiple ways during first use. Signing in ‘with Apple’ may have been the issue… I had constant OS requests for my login, along with miscalculations on my weight in KGs but labeled as lbs and the scale refusing to recognize me or record my data as a result. Correcting this was very frustrating, but once I recreated my account, cleared out all of it’s connections to the Health app and gave it some time, it finally started to recognize me on the scale and began to work as expected. Setup aside, I still have one issue possibly specific to tall people like me. I’m 6’ 8,” which is a height where BMI tends not to be accurate at all. The app acknowledges the issues with BMI in its description but doesn’t adjust my goals despite this. When I log in, the app shows my weight status as ‘Obese,’ and my healthy goal weight under the ‘Overweight’ range. These are false, as most of my weight comes from being so tall, but it’s a bit of a shame that it’s not counter-adjusted for within the app. Despite these two issues, the scale and app are well thought out, providing insights and information in context, alongside goals and tracking. The scale itself is quite nice and at $100 it’s a nice package.

This scale far exceeded my expectations. It has all the bells and whistles you can imagine and I totally dig the app. If you need to closely monitor your weight this is def the scale for you! Little pricey but has a lot to offer. App is great. Only thing I e noticed is that I go through batteries rather quickly. I think like every 2 months. My previous scale the battery lasted a year but wasn’t as smart!

TLDR: An extremely attractive scale with a bright, colorful, and easy to read screen. That is easy to get on/off of that measures extremely fast, and delivers that information to your phone via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth easily. The App itself can be paired with your Apple Health allowing you to get all your health information in a single app. Making it easy to track or maintain your health goals. I’ve found it to be incredibly helpful in tracking my body fat, visceral fat, and muscle percentages to ensure that I am doing the correct training and diet. But I’m not fully sure how accurate or inaccurate the scale is. The scale itself is extremely attractive and is plenty large to be able to easily get on and off it. It also is very sturdy where when I place one foot on it doesn’t wobble or offset itself. However, it is extremely glossy which makes it look premium but also means you’ll notice when it is dirty easier (dust). Which is probably a good thing. But it never held onto my footprints. The screen is also large, bright, colorful, and extremely sharp. Making it super easy to read. Readings come in extremely fast and then go through several screens notifying you of whatever you are tracking. Or if you don’t want to see the results you can do blind mode (which I think is awesome). As the scale can certainly appear to be our enemy sometimes. Personally, I find making sure that I am weighing daily helps keep me at healthier weight as I can see my trends. This scale allows you to go all out in your tracking if you so wish. I personally go with my weight, body fat, muscle, visceral fat, weather, air quality, and standing heart rate each morning. For weight it will show you a graph of where you’ve been so you can see if you’re increasing, decreasing, or steady. With body fat and muscle, it is a percentage. Then visceral fat and air quality outside it will show what is the healthy range and where you sit. The best part of this is that you don’t have to have your phone on you or connected via Bluetooth to get the readings. As it can be done either through Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. Where with my old scale if I didn’t have my phone and the app open it wouldn’t track it. This is much easier. Which takes us to the app. The app seems to have tracking for everything which can be a bit overwhelming. I set it up so it would assimilate all my Apple Health info (as I use an iPhone and Apple Watch) which it does seamlessly. Allowing me to get all my important health info in a single app. Which I greatly appreciate. If you are wanting to track additional things, Withing’s has a ton of products that you can buy separately for that as well. But I couldn’t figure out a way to organize the tiles so that I could see the things I wanted to look at most at the top. Instead, I had to scroll through everything. I do like that on the bottom it will tell you a quick snapshot of normal, healthy, stable, losing fat, gaining muscle, etc. (so for example Weight: X lbs. on the bottom will say “stable weight”). Then if you click into it will show you a graph with the trend. That you can also see more broken down by scrolling down or looking the week, month, quarter, year, or all. I also enjoy that it can give you cards of your snapshot information (“your body fat is decreasing”). Along with giving you Health information such as “tackling myth does muscle weigh more than fat” or explaining complex carbs. Essentially, what I’m saying is there is a ton of information and benefit here if you so wish. Last, accuracy. I have no way of knowing how accurate or inaccurate this scale is. Especially the weight, body fat, and muscle percentage. As that is what I personally go off over BMI. As I find BMI to not be a good indicator. As if you have a lot of muscle like I do you come off in the overweight/obese range despite having acceptable or low body fat percentage. I also think it is more helpful to focus on the trend of body fat/muscle. As if your weight is going up due to working out but you don’t know that you are gaining muscle and losing fat then that can mentally wreck you. With this scale you are able to look at that so you know despite my weight going up I am getting healthier and I am making progress. Which I think is the biggest selling point to a scale like this. I did find those numbers to be higher than my cheaper scale (19% body fat on cheaper scale 20% on this one). Weight was essentially the same. But I had to put on “athlete” or something mode. Otherwise it had my body fat percentage at 29%. Which is simply not correct. So seeing a huge swing of 10% based on a flip of a switch was a bit concerning to me.

It works great as a scale. Expect it to go one or two tenths of a pound different if you're weighing often. I'm enjoying using the app along with my Samsung Health app. Everything that I was hoping for it to be. One thing, the bone mass isn't quite on target. although, that's not my top priority. I get dexa scans for that.

I recently upgraded to the Withings Body Smart from an older Withings scale and the difference is night and day. The readings come through so much faster now, and the display is incredibly clear compared to what I was used to. No more waiting around or squinting — the metrics pop up quickly and are easy to read right on the scale itself. The full-color screen is a huge upgrade from the older generation. It actually feels premium now, and the way everything is laid out makes it simple to understand your stats at a glance. The app integration has also improved a lot — syncing is smooth and the data shows up in the Withings app almost instantly after I step off. What really sealed the deal for me is the Apple Watch integration. It pulls in my daily activity data seamlessly, so everything is in one place. My step count, workouts, and scale metrics all talk to each other, which makes tracking my progress so much easier. If you’re coming from an older Withings model or any basic scale, this is a solid upgrade. Highly recommend it.

I never thought I would spend the $'s on a advanced scale (beyond weight). I researched blood pressure monitors after my annual check up (blood pressure elevated for the first time) to keep track of at home. After research, Withings was top rated and available at my local Best Buy. I really liked the design aesthetic of all the Withings products. Merchandised next to the blood pressure monitor were other Withings products including the Body Smart Scale. We needed a new scale so I purchased. Incredible buy! Measures all critical body composition metrics and syncs up with my Apple watch/phone seamlessly via WiFi. Beautiful design!

I had a scale that was almost twice the price of this one that I had to replace because it stopped working less than a year after buying it. This was a great replacement though. It does everything the other one did with the exception of telling you what your basal metabolic rate is. Though that's something I can calculate. So basically this scale can give you quite a bit of information at half the price of other smart scales. It looks beautiful in my bathroom too so I don't mind having it out. It was easy to set up, and you don't have to be using the app while you weigh yourself to record readings. There are no footprints left after stepping off and it is easy to clean. It's also very encouraging just for using it and keep on using it. Great health device for sure.

I like the scale. This is my third one: 1. One is at my home. 2. Another is here in the hotel. 3. The third one is at my wife's house. I am invested in the scale. The scale is pretty accurate. I like the design. Now it has a color screen. The best feature for me is the integration with Whoop so the weight and other body statistics are transferred directly to Whoop to get better results in Whoop

The scale works better than other digital scales. On the app, you can pair it with other fitness apps. I pair it with Samsung health. It doesn't always read the heartbeat. It keeps track of whether or not you're loosing or gaining weight. Gives you the reading of your visceral fat level. If you pair it with another fitness app that pairs with your smartwatch. It will count your steps as well. Its a good scale to get.

Great scale. My old scale was fine but once I upgraded to this one I actually get excited to get on the scale. Love being able to track progress through the app. Maybe the best looking scale as well.
