This CD is the soundtrack to the Wolf Children movie which just released here in November. If you haven't seen the movie yet, then you need to order it now! The soundtrack is just like the movie in the emotions that they express. You could almost say that it keeps its emotions restrained from going out of control. The tones never get to a fast and fevered pitch. At the same time, they never drop to a slow, mournful expression, either. That's not to say that the emotion isn't felt strongly...you can certainly feel the joy and happiness in a lot of the songs as well as the sorrow in others. However, there's a certain atmosphere about the music that keeps you smiling and enjoying every minute of it. Like with most anime soundtracks, the majority of the tracks are purely orchestral. However, there are a couple with vocals. Mother's Song is the definitive track for the movie. It's an extremely slow paced song which isn't the greatest ever, but it's quite easy to sing along to.
