Let me start by saying this review is going to be a little biased, because I've been following this movie for awhile and was ecstatic that it was finally coming to the US. I had built up an expectation for this movie in my head, and wasn't let down. This is one of those neo-grindhouse movies from Canada in the same vein as Hobo with a Shotgun. It is turned out to be exactly what I was expecting, an over the top, comedy driven, what did I just watch kind of movie. 4 stars for the movie, this is not for everyone, a lot of people just won't understand these types of movies. Docking 1 star for BB, who has the exclusive Blu ray rights in US until may. It was such a pain to track down a copy, sold out online, several local stores only received 1 copy. Worth a watch if you're into these kind of movies.

Take It For What It Is

Wolf Cop was made for $1 million after winning a contest based on a trailer concept. When you consider this the actual film came out surprisingly good, even though the story takes an abrupt turn in the last act out of nowhere. Based on the credits we can expect Wolf Cop 2 sometime this year and that will probably have a more streamlined story and approach, but as is this is still a fun movie and shows what the inventiveness of young filmmakers can do even if they don't have a lot of money at their disposal.

Sharknado, Snakes on a Plane and now Wolfcop. I love watching movies that describe themselves in the title with most being cheesefests that rock, and the tradition continues with Wolfcop. If you love horror comedies, horror films from the 80s, or horror in general, I totally recommend at least a rental but then buy it afterwards. The DVD is the only way most can watch the film unless you buy this awesome BBY exclusive on Bluray. The PQ & AQ are pretty good, a definite jump on the DVD quality, but not quite Avatar quality (Since this is a low budget film after all) but the picture is very high quality and captures the mainly physical effects with only some poor CGI (Yet again, low budget) being a nuisance (Though not really indicative of picture quality). The sound is also well done, not a powerhouse,, but every line, growl, snarl, gunshot, etc, is heard with no problems as all. The extras are also quite good with a nice commentary, featurettes and more to compliment Wolfcop quite well. Overall, buy it now!!!!!

Going into wolfcop I was expecting a fun, bloody and over the top movie experience and that is what I got. If you want to judge wolfcop by the standards of a big budget Hollywood production then you will surely be disappointed. Wolfcop knows what it is and doesn't try to be anything more and I enjoyed it more for that fact.

When I read about this becoming an instant cult classic I decided to check out the trailer and promptly ordered this. It didn't disappoint. Honestly, compared to a lot of non-mainstream movies/cult classic films I've seen, 'Wolfcop' delivers a bit more in terms of entertainment, and the acting is actually pretty good (these movies usually lack that, and this was my biggest concern initially).

Very entertaining low budget B movie. There are time where the movie could have used a bit more story development, like the stuff with the cult which is an important plot point is barely mentioned until the end. But if you go into a movie called Wolfcop looking for plot, you are going in for the wrong reason. Great transformation scenes and a whole lot of straight to video fun.

Early reviews of this movie that I read were not that good but I liked the concept and decided to pick it up and judge for myself. Is the movie an Academy choice? Obviously not, but if you like cheezy, so-bad-they're-good horror flicks this one's for you. Blood splatters, skin is shed and heads roll as Officer Lou Garou ( get it?) is transformed into a werewolf to fulfill an ancient curse. Before long his is pimping his cop car into a wolf version of the Batmobile and shooting it out with the bad guys --when he isn't ripping their faces off. The actor playing Lou has to be one of the baddest actors around, but that just adds to the charm. A must see for fans of this type of thing, and the end credits promise a Wolf Cop 2 next year. I can't wait!

WolfCop is a striking example of how a shoestring budget needn't hamper a filmmaker's ambitions. Innovative sequences, genuine surprises, a clever script, and nice dark humor make this film an unappreciated gem. Give it a chance... very enjoyable!

Everything you've heard, read, or seen 'bout this little gem is most likely true if it's positive......we had a blast! Best Buy's Blu ray of this flick is top shelf, and the supplements are a hoot to boot. Hot babes, shapeshifters, way above the usual FX make this a real crowd pleaser, Oh, and yeah, there's a lycancop? Great fun from our "blood brothers " of the great white north, Canadian film making at its best! Highly recommended. Writer//director Lowell Dean, ya done good!

The first time I saw Wolfcop, I enjoyed it for what it was but didn't think I would ever bother watching it again. It stuck with me and I have since watched it three or four more times. It keeps getting better.

I wish I hadn't waited so long to watch this. If you're not a horror purist, then you need to check out this Canadian crowd funded gem. Practical&SFX are way above low budget. The special features are a treat.

I bought this movie purely because it had a funny cover and title and I was not disappointed. It's not as cheesy and corny for a B movie as I was expecting

This movie is exactly like the title indicates. It has silly humor and mostly practical effects which is something I prefer over CGI.

It was a return to the 80s w/ real make-up and wax wolf changes vs all of the CGI stuff we've seen lately. Great job!

One awesome movie. This is concreted into my top 5. From a story that turns a drunk cops world upside down and puts a light Mohawk on a police car to a fellow office that doesn't give up on the slacking co-worker slash part time lycanthrope. I'd liken this movie to frat party drunken silliness that you laugh at for years to come.

It's supposed to be a move that's so bad, it's good, but it's just not shockingly bad like Troll 2 and it doesn't have enough cheesiness to have the appeal of something like "I Come in Peace". It does have some appeal, though. The movie does have some humorous moments and it's not overall a bad concept. It's just not executed well enough to really be worth recommending.

This movie was surprisingly awesome. I knew going in the movie had a budget under 1 million and was a little skeptical. After watching it I was pleasantly surprised and will be keeping it in my collection. Just don't be one of those super serious people and try to watch this or you'll hate it!
