For a name like Wolfenstein with so much history they could have put more effort into the design and writing of the game but I still had a good time with it. I thought the storyline was interesting and I recommend upgrading all the veil powers because they really are a trip. The graphics are decent but the physics of movement and certain textures look old school. Playing as BJ feels very stiff, especially if you're used to playing FPS like COD, Killzone 2, and Resistance 2. The SS weapons (like the Tesla Cannon, Particle Cannon, etc.) are VERY cool. I really liked the futuristic weapons because they are powerful and are a good departure from the regular rifles. I am not usually into upgrade systems and the fact that there is not enough gold in the game to upgrade everything was a disappointment. Searching for gold also tacked on several minutes of busywork which got boring and redundant. I rated this as an average shooter, because there are much more detailed FPS out there and this seemed very "on the track" and mechanical. I recommend renting it or purchasing it when it goes down to 30 bucks; it is not worth $60.

I bought this game the first day because I assumed it would be like the Return to Castle Wolfenstein, PS2 style. I do like the upgradeable weapons (I chose the MP40, which becomes ineffective near the end of the game) and that you can upgrade your powers. Those are a plus for me in any game. The storyline was good, but short. The bosses were weird, but easy to defeat. The blackmarket was a nice touch.I think that Veil mode is awesome and probably one of the best things of the game.
The downfall however, is that unlike the previous verson, you can only carry 8 weapons (all German) and you have to unlock them. You don't carry and American weapons even though you see them throughout the game. The game was short, storyline was good, but it was really short. Another downfall is that only a few items in the game are actually destructible. You can't bash chairs, radios, paintings, or even the flags. And when you get cornered by certain creatures, your remote like freezes so you can't fight them off.
Other than that, I really enjoyed the game. I would suggest renting it first to see if you like it.

One of the games that I waited to be released. Played Wolfenstein 3d back in the day. So it took my interest when I heard the new version was being released. This game at its best is average. Its good enough to keep my interest. Some of the areas feels like your running in circles. Some of in the elements incorporated into the game is terrible. Glad I caught it on sales for $20 because that's what it is worth.
